since Dean Smith- and it’s all working the refs . Just cost his team a chance to go for a 4th and 2 by calling a timeout and an appeal showed a sack

They’d of had to take the FG anyway with the delay of game coming and 5 yard loss. He just lost the timeout too but the scoring result was the same IMO.

Than any coach in the NFL and that’s why they show him. All the young guys are all business and a bit boring.
Dean Smith was actually a nice guy - I met him twice at LJ - Friend of a friend. He remembered my name after almost a two years. He was probably nice to the crew. He was a chain smoker but very affable and humble. And he was Dean Smith. He worked the refs like no other and I was able to watch up close. His demeanor kept it from going personal and they liked him too. We won one of the two games and that was probably one of my fondest sports memories on a personal level. One of the biggest surprises in my life was that I really liked him, because I hated him for so long…
