We do not have the money these other schools have. Although we love Clemson we do not have huge NIL donors. We are not a huge school and are located in a rural part of a small state surrounded by schools with tons of boosters, money etc.
What made/ makes Clemson different is the family environment, culture, and development. That’s what we have to sell. A new hire will take less money in business if you have a great culture. This is what we have to sell. We have to take 4th and 5th round picks per day and develop them. Also we have to go after talent that isn’t as much money driven.
We will never compete with the Ohio State, UGAs and Texas of the world with money. NIL is literally the worst thing that could happen to a Clemson program that was humming.
Dabo built this program and he more than any coach in the country is tied to us. Dabo is Clemson. Clemson is Dabo. It’s a marriage and no divorce is allowed

Right now we aren’t competing with Duke or GT. That’s not because we don’t have the money, it’s because we don’t want to pay recruits.

We may not have the money that other schools have we also lack the coaching and development other programs have. Get rid of the family charity coaching program.
Don’t want to open up the pocket book to pay players then open it up to bring in actual coaches that develop players and get them to the next level. Want to give former players real opportunities let them be GA’s under the best coordinators and position coaches that can mentor them and then bring them back once they actually have experience and a track record.
Otherwise forget ACC championships or the playoff.

I agree with you about what we have to offer, and it's unique. And I love that about us.
However, it's not just Ohio State, GA, and Texas -- I'd like us to be able to compete with GA Tech, Duke, UNC, and Ok St. I don't think that's unreasonable, and if it is -- then I don't know what we're even doing.
Having said that, I hate that this is what CFB has become. It's not the game I loved. And I don't know how Clemson navigates this, keeping our values and culture, all the things we love. But I hope we can find a way.

Anyone who thinks Dabos sitting on a mountain of NIL cash he's miserly refusing to use to bring in top players is probably quite misinformed. Odds are he's using every dollar he has to keep the guys already here from bolting and there's nothing left for fancy 5 star HS recruits or transfers.
