NIL awakened “Northern” money. If you think you can win an arms race vs Michigan , Notre Dame, Ohio state etc you got another thing coming .

Good Sir, might I remind you that during the late great unpleasantness those yankees stole our hams, sides of bacon, chickens, laying hens, cows, mules, horses, hogs, meal, flour, syrup, corn, fodder and anything else that they could find. Then they took it back up north and sold it for yankee greenbacks. That's how they got rich. Harump!

Dabo has stated that nobody would have more money than Clemson, and for him to make such a bold statement, it tells me that he is privy to better information than we have or can look into...

Ok ya'll...time to break out your "Collar and Cuff" insignias as well as the stash of Confederate Currency you kept in the backyard well and under the floorboards under the parlor room rug. You know, those Confederate Dollars with Lee, Jackson Stuart, etc. Maybe we can start our own "Crypto Currency" with those! CHARGE!!!!!

In an article I read more than a decade ago, the amount of private family office wealth was more so in the Southeastern States than any other region of the nation with the State of South Carolina and Georgia harnessing the most generational wealth. Family Trust, Endowments, Etc... That's all old money and most of your old money lives in the Southeast. However, old money won't invest into a collegiate sport like new money will. Therein lies the issue.

As someone once said, "Greed eventually kills." So does boredom. The same teams winning year after year was a problem before and will be again when the money schools dominate. If the issues are not correctly addressed, look out! The only good that would come out of failure would be the bankruptcy of Disney/ESPN.

money seem like chump change.
My Texan family connections, now over 77 years strong, have taught me those cowboys and cowgals don't hesitate to open up their stashes, when it comes to sports, particularly football even down to the itsy bitsy, teeny weeny type. There is a relatively small ISD high school on the southeast coast of which part of my family have been on the board for years, and they were having a field drainage issue. Welp, they bulldozed the entire field, stands, buildings and rebuilt, including an indoor practice facility, concession stands, etc. etc. that would rival many smaller collegiate venues. When I asked a cousin, who is the board Chairman, if they had to float bonds, he laughed and said, "Hellll no, we paid for it out of petty cash!" The football team sports a variety of new uniforms, gear, etc. every year. They have a heck of an impressive entrance, including a gargantuan Tiger under which they emerge. They don't travel on yellowhounds...they go charter. Even its band is well-equipped. The cattle, oil and gas money along with extensive community involvement are mind-boggling. AND that's just one small district out of a troop transport statewide!
My point is the Notre Dames, Michigans, Ohio States up north have old money and a lot of it. Many of the programs in the Deep South might have newer money, but I'd bet many would be surprised how much along with the R, W and A to spend it.
