SMDH...it just isn't about that any more, AT ALL.
The Clemson fanbase is its own worst enemy right now...they just don't get it.

I think we develop quality people. Dabo values the person, not just the athlete. We graduated kids, etc. But we should be able to do all that and still win. Those aren’t mutually exclusive.

With as many resources as we provide to make sure they do graduate, literally all they have to do is show up. Many graduate in 3 years and some leave with 2 degrees while playing ball.
All that, and things like Paw journey, resonated when all anyone could offer were scholarships. Now, it mostly resonates with kids who will never play beyond college. The stars have a different mindset and different expectations from us now, that either we will or won’t compete for their services.

culture used to sell... a lot of moms loved Clemson bc they could see their kids developing under a genuinely good man and program. Developing people used to be the biggest thing parents looked for when supporting their kids college decision. Now its become, "how much money will you pay them". What we have to offer is the same, but its not held in the same light by recruits and their families like it used to be.
With that said... this team isnt lacking talent - we have over forty 4/5* players.

Yep it's all about $ NIL $ now. Thats why our players aren't ready to play hard. They have plenty of money and Lamborghinis to drive around. If I had that type of cash when I was their age I would probably wouldn't have made it past my 30's
The main point is this. Dabo as a man & a coach makes the personal decision to build men prepared for life after football. I think most of us would agree that's the right thing to do as an adult. Help kids grow in faith & adulthood.
Problem now is they are getting paid more than most Americans will see in their lifetime. So is Dabo & he's getting paid to WIN games. All the other extras are what he does as a good Christian man.
So, the question for Clemson, Neff & the BOT. Is $11 million for Winning games or is it for making good Clemson men.
If they say it for ALL AND then we as fans / ITPAY / doners have to live with it or not. Ask Michael Jordan if he's happy with giving all the extra money to UNC so Belichick can walk around with a pocket full of cash, 26-year-old twinkie & still look like hot garbage.
He was brought in to win games & build the program back.

Compared to a kid with no support working 1-2 jobs while in school and still graduating.

and probably 98% of them don't make any real NIL money, either, graduation rates should continue to matter.

The odds of a P5 player making it to the NFL are far, far higher than 2%. That number that's bandied about considers all college football: FBS, FCS, Division 2, and 3.
And graduation rates should only matter if the players earned it. Handouts shouldn't be praised.

Aren't you the same one who said you

let players pass off your work as their own while working as a tutor?
There are, what, 65 power five schools? So about 6,500 P5 players? And let's say 100% of this year's draft class (230 picks?) come from only P5 programs. So you're looking at ... let's see...carry the one ... that's about 3.5%.
So, you're right, that's higher than 2%. Maybe not "far, far higher," but higher still.
See A1ASauce®'s tutor about any factual or mathematical errors.

No. I said I tutored players and KNEW tutors who did the players work for them.
There are 257 draft picks every year. Also, did you forget about undrafted free agents? That averages around 450-500 players every year. So the odds are closer to 9%. That's far, far higher.
Probably should know what you're talking about before acting like a smart ###.

The graduating players thing is, and always has been, bull ####.
(1) We admit players with absurdly low GPAs/SATs who could never get into colleges on their own merits. (2) We place them in fake majors or with professors who are not going to give them bad grades. (3) We tutor them/do their work for them. (4) We graduate them early so that we don't have to worry about that any more and can focus on the new batch.
I was a Calhoun Honors College Member and tutored a few football players. Many of my friends did the same. It was obvious few of them were actual students. Several literally couldn't read. I had a class with our QB at the time, and he showed up twice all semester yet passed the class. All of the football players somehow graduated under Dabo. I like him, but CJ Spiller had a 10 wonderlic score. That is random chance and translates to a 73 IQ and indicates illiteracy. If they were legitimately graduating players, you wouldn't see that.

#2 is absolutely true . PRTM, Sport Communications, and Coaching. It’s better than nothing but that’s been the placement area for singularly focused “student athletes”. I know cause I spent lots of time in Lehotsky hall with them. Forestry, Ag, and PRTM.

As I said, I had many friends who were also tutors. Never said I did their work for them. Though I probably could tutor you since you struggle at reading comprehension.

And I remember they did not have any ideas for what topics they wanted to do for their speeches. We worked on them for a couple weeks practicing our topics and eventually they decided on the challengers of playing football. Actually something interesting they could have talked about, but you could tell they weren’t confident in what exactly to say so each practice their speeches weren’t very good.
Finally on the day of the final speech, all 3 of them had completely changed topics with ready made neat bullet point outlines. “The dangers of smoking” which they just read off of the outline verbatim.

Fine. Then the name of the sport needs to be changed because it's currently a lie.
