OT: Insanity Workout Month 2

Sep 12, 2012, 4:03 PM

I posted a topic here a month ago about the Insanity workout and how I was just starting. I have completed the first month and the recovery week and just started month #2 with the MAX interval training...

This workout is ridiculous. I have not been this sore in a long time. Has anyone else completed the Insanity workout? How in the heck did you complete month #2?!?!

Up to date though I have lost about 15lbs and feeling great! I hate pushing play every day, and whenever I see a picture of Shawn T, I suddenly get angry.

I thought about trying it. Worth it?***

It is not fun, and you dread doing it each day, BUT

Sep 12, 2012, 4:14 PM

The results do not lie. You feel exhausted after completing it, and you finish in a puddle of sweat. It really does work! Make sure you have a good pair of tennis shoes, and buy some of the football gloves with the tacky palms. I would slip on the sweat, but the gloves help a lot!

Resistance bands. The punching, kicking, kneeing is actually fun. Highly recommend

Re: keep going bro, I will keep getting fatter for you!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:04 PM

Frill though, Ive heard good things about it, and seen the infomercial. Dudes a tool to be sure.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Listen -- how much fatter can you get?

Sep 12, 2012, 4:06 PM

There are limits to what human legs can hold up.

I just started the 2nd Phase too. I thought I was in pretty good shape until I did...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No joke man! It really is INSANE!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:16 PM

That first day was the tougher than the second one. I'm interested to see what the other ones are like for the rest of the week.

I think Max Cardio is the easiest one of the group.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea, I thought I remembered the commercial!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:41 PM

Geez, look at those two standing together. I bet the white guy is in pretty good shape too, but looks so small compared to Walker.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah mike is in great shape. The workout is great...

Sep 12, 2012, 4:47 PM

I'm down 40lbs with 4 weeks to go. Im seeing abs again that has been hidden behind all the beer and good food.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I havent really changed my diet other than no soda or sweets

Sep 12, 2012, 4:51 PM

I still eat what I want, but I wasn't huge to begin with. Just wanted to get back active and tone up a bit.

40lbs is a lot of weight! How many days is the program?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's 90 days. I have actually been very strict with the diet

Sep 12, 2012, 4:54 PM

And exercises. Haven't cheated at all. I'm past my goal but I'm going to keep it up for the entire 90 days. I'm back at my weight I was when playing bball in college.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea man, 40lbs in 60 days is crazy!!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:58 PM

Diet is a big deal, and I have always been pretty good about not getting fast food and a bunch of junk like that. Keep it up and let us know what the final numbers are!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:22 PM

I have not done insanity.I do know what it is. I ride a bike 100 to 150 miles per weekand i have started a work out called boot camp. They are alot a like. YES it does make youvery sore but it pays off!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:29 PM

I am on my 3rd day of week #2. And when it was said, that you hate to push that play button and just seeing his face made you angry....I am right there with ya. But, at the end of it each day...I'm like, yessss!! 4lbs lost in 10 days on my way to 25!!! It is insane though!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: OT: Insanity Workout Month 2

Sep 12, 2012, 4:36 PM

You do not know insane until you get to that second month!

But that is awesome man! keep it up!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Has anyone tried the new one? Asylum I think it what it is?***

Sep 12, 2012, 4:44 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I did month 1 with great results, went from 210lbs to 190

Sep 12, 2012, 4:53 PM

then tried month 2 and could not even get half way though the first video and I have not done it in a few months and starting to gain weight back. I dread it but I am going to start over with month 1 again.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It does suck, and you dread to do it, but it works!

Sep 12, 2012, 4:55 PM

keep it up man! I hate to see what the other 3 videos are for month #2

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have finished the complete program twice..

Sep 12, 2012, 4:58 PM

And the follow on program Asylum twice. Asylum 2 comes out in a month. The second set of workouts make you feel like you want to die, but when you are finished you will be in the best shape of your life. It is worth the efforts.

I am doing TapOut XT right now and really enjoy that too. They aren't quite as intense as Insanity, but you get good results and the MMA change of pace is really cool....I am looking forward to finishing and then jumping in to Asylum and Asylum 2 again...

Sep 12, 2012, 5:01 PM [ in reply to I have finished the complete program twice.. ]

I like the Insanity because you do not need any other equipment to do it. The Asymlum has the agility ladder and all of that other stuff. Looks like it would be more fun though than the insanity!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I have lost 80 lbs...dropped from 260 to 180

Sep 12, 2012, 5:06 PM

And have a 6 pack, all that done in my 40's...

It's nice to go to the beach and have my wife feel good because people look at me...

And she has done these with me...our baby is just about 1 year old and my wife is back with the ripped abs..

These programs work, if you push play...

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh I don't think you can just push play and it work.***

Max Plyo is the absolute worst of all of them

Sep 12, 2012, 5:03 PM

The second month will feel very much like you did when you started the first month. It's much more intense and for a longer period. Hang in there though. It's worth it.

Re: Max Plyo is the absolute worst of all of them

Sep 12, 2012, 5:11 PM

Yeah, I love the Balance Push Ups at the end it. Max Plyo always make me start burping a lot (I guess from the Power Jumps).

Full Body Drills and Ski Abs/Push-up Jacks/In-out abs/Oblique push-ups in Max Interval Circuit kick my ### though...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Level 3 drills were very humbling! 16 pushups + sprint?!***
