Gameday?

Nov 12, 2012, 1:09 PM

Could be possible unless they have already decided. It wouldbe between us, Florida- Florida State or Notre Dame and real USC.

I don't know...they have been to Tallahassee and Gainville, plus 2 more aways games for Fl. They have also already had ND twice (home and away)

Is the "already been there" thing a hard rule now? They went to the same place twice as recently as 2007 (LSU and Oregon), and lots more in the years before that.

Southern Cal is terrible

They might have 4 losses by next week.

I do think its between us and Notre Dame game. Not sure when last time they were in Notre Dame but you know they are itching to go.

They were in South Bend for the ND vs Stanford game.

The USC game is in Southern Cal

If both SUC and CLEMSON win this week - and they should - then we will get gameday IMO. Here's why: spurrier ran that mouth and wrote a check that his ### can't cash - so ESPN wants to expose his stupidity. Just think - they can't wait to hear what Dabo says when CLEMSON stomps on hole in spurrier and his band of chickens.

We win sat we get Gameday!! Gameday is at Oregon this week so thats out they already been to Fla and Fla St and if i remember correctly they have done 3 ND games already this year so if we win sat i think we get Gameday!!! But first have to take care of business against the pack!!

understand the process....

Nov 12, 2012, 2:19 PM

1st off, you have to understand that Clemson-Carolina has regional appeal when compared to ND-SCal or even UF-FSU. but w/ that, he's how it will be evaluated.

UF-FSU would be a revisit to Tallahasse, but they're not as worried about that as they are for a national story and promoting their netork. UF-FSU will be on their network(s), so they have the incentive to build the game.

ND-SCal is also attractive because of the national tradition of both schools, and it will save some $ by not having to charter a jet to fly Kirk across the country after Gameday. But Gameday in LA would have terrible fan participation because of the time difference.

SC@Clemson would seem to be an attractive alternative, but ESPN may want to be careful how much it promotes that game because it will be televised against ND@SCal. What ESPN wants to do is beat FOX w/ the Oregon-OSU game, so they want to push ND@SCal hard.. People in the south w/ watch the SC@Clemson game. Also, they get much bigger $$$ for their ABC primetime ads versus what they get for ESPN primetime.

So my guess is SC@Clemson is their 3rd choice.

Very good analysis. You would think they would want to cover best matchups they havent covered yet but understandable.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

in 2006 Clemson vs Ga Tech wasn't "regional" appeal?***

Oregon St. vs, Oregon ....

... would be my guess. Probably never been to Corvalis, Oregon.

Re: Oregon St. vs, Oregon ....

Nov 12, 2012, 4:56 PM

They are going there this weekend

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Oregon St. vs, Oregon ....

Nov 12, 2012, 5:42 PM

They are going to Eugene this weekend, which is where Oregon is. They have been to Corvalis (Oregon State) once, in 2010. But, I think it's a safe guess that their going to Oregon this week, likely means they won't be going to Oregon at Oregon State next weekend.

Re: Oregon St. vs, Oregon ....

we will see....Hoping that we take care of NC State . No reason why we dont have a shot at getting Gameday.
