Is Dabo saying that neither kicker has separated from the other.

That could be a big problem for us again this season and I doubt we have another graduate student that could pull of what weitz did last season.

and played lights out and won the job. Maybe he wants to keep the competition open longer so one of the kickers doesn't transfer out before the season starts like what happened last year.

Is the glass half full or half empty?

Have they not separated because they are both good or both bad?

I think earlier in the Spring, Dabo said they were both doing very good.

Sounds like Gunn looked like Justin Tucker in practice last year, but when the pressure of a game came around not so much. We’ll see who steps up with the bright lights shining.

May be coachspeak. Dabo knows if he names one the starter there's a decent chance the other hits the portal in a few weeks and he'd prefer to have more than one kicking option this fall.

I doubt it. Dabo is usually pretty straight forward if one player is clearly better.

He has been in the past but this is a new era. Could definitely see him keeping some things closer to the vest, especially this early on.

I honestly don't think Dabo is going to announce any competition being over right now. Obviously, some spots (QB, RB, LB, etc.) are pretty much sewed up. But coach wants to see what these guys can do. Spring game should help him decide.
