That will be the final nail in the coffin of what made CFB the greatest sport on earth. Just want to know who looked at the sport and decided that trying to make it NFL Jr was the right move for the future. At least I’ll be able to save a ton of money and time when the switch does happen as the sport we all loved will be dead

I assume all of you understand that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that schools had to allow NIL payments. From that ruling, everything was pretty predictable—- the schools with fans willing to pay big money to these players will have the best players and the best odds of winning. It will be much like the NFL, but note that the highest paying NFL teams aren’t necessarily the best teams—- coaches matter and teamwork usually comes out on top.

Without an anti-trust exemption via Federal Law privitization of college athletics was inevitable. In this case the richest D1 football programs who can afford to share revenue with players and thus pay them as employees. It’s still not clear to me what will become of the collegiate athletics model for the lesser divisions of college sports. Those schools have no revenue to share, they only have academic scholarships to offer and despite the billions in D1 revenue there isn’t enough money to pay all the thousands and thousands of athletes as employees.

All true, what you said but unfortunately your search for a scapegoat will take you to the ends of the earth. We'd all like to find Deep Throat for whatever, but it ain't happenin'. That's because it's all spread out, it's called "the human condition", and so forth. I mean, do we really all need the excessive speed bumps on half the roads, parking lots, entrance ways - who ordered these? Best specific answer might be lawyers and litigation are to blame, and all these people want nice homes and things too (I'm here talking about CFB, but also the bumps). I'll stop here.

The product has probably already hit rock bottom with NIL and transfers. The product is terrible right now.
The only reason to watch right now is that it will likely improve when it becomes closer to the NFL jr. But it will never be what it once was just a short time ago.

Yep across the country this is the worst football played in a LONG time. One thing I loved about our old teams were how fundamentally sound they were. They focused so much on the small detail that became a well oiled machine. Now it’s more about me then team which is fine they can do as they please just not going to spend insane amounts of money on an inferior product. Soon fans of the school will lose interest because the players could care less what name is on the front of the jersey it’s about the name on the back.
