It really does. I've said it multiple times on here tonight, but I really wish we had a few starters still sprinkled in there. I know this is valuable experience for our backups, but I hate unnecessary TD's against us.

This is how we built 2015-2019 depth. You gotta be willing to let dudes get reps, especially against starters. App kept their starters in for most of the game.

We could have probably won this game 80-0 if we had to but no reason to risk injury and its always good to get the backups some snaps.

I had similar thoughts at first then realized the big picture. Did you see those guys pull together on that interception at the goal line. They took a big step and i’m glad they got quality time and our starters got some rest. This will pay dividends as the year goes on

This will be a longer season than ever for college football. If Tigers continue to roll and make playoffs, we’re going to need more fresh legs as the season goes forward. I’m ok giving up some points to get everybody some game experience. I’d hate to see us deep in the playoffs and have to use a player who’d only had 2 snaps all season vs a player who’d played in at least half of the games.

That is a ridiculous statement. Did you want App State to just quit at halftime? There were no points against our mop-up defense after the first 2 minutes of the 2nd half and that gets a A grade in any class.

It pays off later. I don’t mind it at all because this has to be the first time since Trevor Lawrence that we are talking about garbage points against our defense….. it means we kicked ### so I’ll take it every week
