and New Year's Eve. But it makes no sense for people to be blasting very powerful explosives until 1 and 2am on any other night(s).
Seems to me the problem is fireworks aren't for kids anymore. You see these $300-400 packages in stores that are made for overgrown kids that likely have other places where there money is needed more. I guess the half-price sales until the stands delete their inventory will keep the noise at a peak.
Ms. The Mole tried to go to bed at 10pm last night. She's a nurse and gets up at 4:30am to be at work at 6am. "Kids" kept blasting until midnight. And just when you thought they were done they decided to blow up a can of tannerite that shook the whole neighborhood. At least you knew they were done after that because that was a run-and-hide explosion.
And let's not forget the guy down east that thought his head was a good launching pad. May he rest in peace.

Main reason I don't like them. It disturbs pets and even non pets. Fireworks are worthless in 2024 imo.

We limit the top speed of cars to 75 mph.
We should ban the use of high fructose corn syrup in all foods.
We should ban dogs in all public spaces.
All guns with more than a two shot capacity should be banned.
Students should stand for at least a half of every class.
Weed should be legal and alcohol should be illegal.
^^^ all of the would prolong lives and/or make life less aggravating

Nor is it the gov’s right to ban fireworks but all the things I listed are more impactful than fireworks which are a small issue a couple of times a year

They were blasting them all night close to my neighborhood last night. I am sure there will be some stragglers tonight as well. Probably get a couple random ones here and there while people are drinking over the next 2 weeks.

My 6 year old cocker spaniel hates those loud noises and
barks at every boom.Glad to finally get to sleep after they

I support a ban for public use. I personally have a friend whose daughter has no hearing in one ear due to a fireworks accident, and my mom got hit in the eye with a bottle rocket at a Fourth of July party and had to wear an eyepatch for weeks. Neither party was at fault in the situation

I have a solid yard, but yeah I would imagine that 90% of the population have neighbors pretty close. Some that don't live close to others can burn a lot of acreage down and destroy a lot of lives and property. There are people in odd spots where they don't have to worry. This thread wasn't about those people though.

My Bother-in-law is a Viet Nam Veteran with PTSD. The neighborhood He lives in Part of the Town of Winnsboro and has a No Fireworks law in place. He called multiple times to report it and was told "oh we don't enforce that". I'm for a total ban as well!

I live in a neighborhood where there are many houses fairly close together. It’s actually 4 different neighborhoods that are connected. We’ve lived here for 28 years and have dealt with this crap for years. Sometimes they just randomly shoot them. I heard them back in June. It’s against the law to shoot them in neighborhoods here but these clowns keep doing it and nothing changes and nothing is enforced.
The houses are way too close together for shooting fireworks. We’ve had them land on our car and roof in the past and they scare the Sh&$ out of our dog. A useless waste of money and it’s disrespectful to shoot them in tight neighborhoods. If you want to see a better show go to one of the free professional ones that most cities have.
If you live on a 40 acre farm then have at it. You’re not bothering most people out there. It depends on the situation.
