ranks next to LAST in the ACC. We gave up a ton of yards yesterday. Because of that, we have given up an AVERAGE of 415 yds. per game.
Does that mean our defense is putrid? Nope. Stats can be misleading.
But you can be sure the talking heads in the media will be jumping on this stat and telling the world how "awful" we are on defense. Just wait.

I think we all know there is a lot of drop off after the first team D which is all the more reason they need all the playing time they can get.

that we get an automatic bye if we win the conference and the field is wide open now. With no divisions we can't afford a loss so Dabo is throwing the kitchen sink at em' early and putting reserves in for training, film to show their weaknesses and failures and not only rest the starters but keep them healthy by taking them off the field.

they needed to look at the whole season....Our D had a lot of players that had played 90 percent of the snaps for the year...He said they laid out the whole season for the next year...Yesterday, when it got to be 28 Zip...he started rolling them in...Jaheim, Mayo, Hampton,Strozier,etc.etc.....Boys, Mayo looks like a giant to me when he comes in...Anyway....some of you may recall back in the day, we were killing Maryland, and I believe Tommy Bowden was the coach, and he still had Jacobi in the game and he ran him on a reverse...on a muddy field,and he got hit late out of bounds, got injured,and was out for a couple of games....YET ANOTHER reason the play backups as soon as possible...

If you believe people like Heather Dimwit at ESPN, then it does. She told us pre-season that FSU was going to be the ACC's team in the CFP. Speaking only for myself, I believe she's a clown who only parrots what others post on social media. That's it.

Where else can they get the poise and focus?! Playing time. Play them. Play them all. Rest those starters as much as possible. A lot of wear and tear throughout the season. Can’t get injured standing on the sidelines. Well, you can it’s just highly unlikely. Rested players equals healthy players.

Here is the problem that no one wants to address. The last time our D was on the field for 4 quarters, they were gassed and couldn't go another minute
Now you have 3 straight weeks where the starters on defense have only played 4 quarters of football combined. What happens when we get into a tight game or need that resilience and energy to make a stand late in the 4th?
Will they have the resilience? Will they be able to go or will they be gassed?

I was watching games last night and they broke to the ESecPN analysts and there rake was a blowout by the Tigers and NC State was never in the game. I think Dorean said the same, they were never in the game.

Nobody cares about the talking heads except themselves. Wins matter. Yes, the garbage time stats are horrendous. Even the pundits are saying it because Clemson is playing players without a name on their jersey half the game. Winning takes care of everything. Stats are for the nerds.
