Officials call right on the field ain't good enough ... then photographic proof of what the official saw up close ain't good enough either.
You just want to see him in bounds.

Because it isn't. You are seeing the cleats and lines on the shoe. What you need to look at is the white line. The part where it isn't straight, the shoe is over it, which is why it isn't straight.

A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or reverse projection of the object blocking the light. The sun causes many objects to have shadows and at certain times of the day, when the sun is at certain heights, the lengths of shadows change.

Look it up if you need to.

If you look at the video replay you can clearly see the foot on the line. The correct call was made,

This is a picture directly off of a full HD replay. I pulled it up from my DVR copy because the image does look weird where his shoe is, but that is exactly how it appears on the HD game footage. Look at the first replay after they realize it's going to be reviewed when it hits 7:36 left in the third quarter.

The replay angles that were close up weren't conclusive b/c the step in question from a ground level (closer) shot, was obscured by the head/hat of someone on the sidelines. The angle the announcers used to comment on - the only one where you could see that step hit the ground, was from farther away, above, and from the opposite direction, and you simply could not see the area in question with certainty or clarity. From that shot, it looked like he was in, but this photo is closer and at a better angle, without the obscurity of the ground level shot, and without the distance and poor angle of the overhead shot.

That was the first run flipped horizontal. If you copy that picture to paint, go to rotate and flip horizontal you will see.

IT'S NOT GREEN AROUND HIS SHOE
Sep 20, 2013, 2:04 AM
[ in reply to Re: He was out of bounds ] |

It's black around his shoe. The shadow or contrast lining the edge of his shoe all around is black, not green. You can tell b/c that same black contrast/shadow extends to the heel of his shoe, a part which is clearly over the grass, and yet at that place, you can see the contrast between the green and the black. The same contrast on the right side is not the grass, but that same black contrast.
