I spoke to a Notre Dame professor today that is highly involved in athletic program. Apparently this may be actually happening. Full affiliation as well. I thought I would share. He said by year end

Whichever conference Notre Dame join, if any, would be stupid to allow Notre Dame to join without football being involved.
I thought the Big East was stupid to allow Notre Dame to manipulate them like it did, and I hope any potential conference home for Notre Dame realizes that.
