Officiating sportsmanship

I was extremely confused at how quickly the umpire threw out Obertop for the bat flip and the step onto home plate. And maybe he said some things rounding the bags.

Another edit, Barlow’s missed fastball at the start of the game looked intentional. Didn’t hit him, but sent a message. Do you think it was intentional? The matter was Hoy as well, providing even more support that it was intentional.

I am no expert, but I know that Hoy did multiple things yesterday to start it. He stood and watched his home run for longer than anyone I’ve seen ever. He clearly talked and said things to every Clemson player he passed around the bases. And he went back to dugout and continued talking.

Why is he not thrown out for the watching of his home run alone? It was warranted for him to be ejected for that whole play.

If you think college football and basketball officiating is bad, but baseball is atrocious.

Missed home run call against Georgia, that yes indeed costed us the game. And now this.

Not to mention the goofy bird trotting that usc pitcher did multiple times against us. Umps are to blame, IMO. Make them be sportsmen or sit in the dugout.

15, you should know that the retaliator is always the first one that gets lit up.

Yes I’m above 20 thanks

I also understand the whole thing, I’ve grown up with baseball in my blood and know everything about it.

Definitely more than you, not to get unnecessarily snippy and away from the point

I understand what you’ve shown, but it was just weird and confusing how lenient the umpire was with Louisville’s a**hole players compared to ours.

Not taking up for the ump, but I think it was a combo of him flipping the bat towards the Louisville dugout and I'm not sure what he said but he mouthed at Louisville dugout and stared them down.

It's frustrating when it seems to be unequal. But, both benches were warned in the early innings so Obertop in essence had been warned.

Now, I'm old school and have watched a ton of softball and baseball my whole life. I can't stand the celebrations we do. The 2 finger wave when we hit a single, the ax chop mess when we hit a double, and that stomping crap on homeplate. I say just go about your business and act like you've been there.

So why wasn’t their pitcher throw out when he threw behind Obertop on the previous pitch?

Exactly what I was wondering. Especially since both sides were warned after CU pitcher threw behind UL batter earlier.

I mean I know what you’re saying, but buddy stood there and started at a home run for a minimum of 6 seconds without moving.

And the proceeded to act like a piece of trash and tried to degrade our infielders.

There’s not many worse behaviors on the baseball diamond than that.

Also, remember Cam getting thrown out against Tennessee for barely saying something? Yeah where’s that at?

I’m convinced Clemson baseball has just unintentionally created bad blood with officiating crews and other teams through recent history. Due to multiple things.
