Why wouldn’t we want to play an ACC schedule? Thats the easiest path to the playoffs. The SEC and BIG are ridiculous. Making it to a playoff in those conferences will be insanely tough.
I get the revenue gap argument and why a move is needed but definitely not looking forward to playing a brutal schedule every season.
Especially after Dabo leaves. Scary

The Acc will get one team in CFP. THE G4 gets one and that will be ND. THE BIG 12 WILL GET 1 SEC AND BIG WILL GET 4 &
Or 5 EACH. I feel confident Clemson can be one of the 4 or 5. When the CFP expands to 16 teams, the SEC AND BIG get even more. And more of the revenue.
99% of fans and 80% of college athletic officials have no idea as how the revenue sharing plan is going to change college FB.

Four teams jn and ACC getting 1, odds are about the same.
Also, now that pay for plY is coming, Clemson will not be able to keep up with even South Carolina if there is a $50 million difference each year.

ZERO... the ACC is going to die on this hill and that is going to take some time to work through the judicial process.
Think about where things really are and what still has to happen. All we have done at this point is ask the courts whether or not we are bound by the GOR if we leave the conference. Let's say we win that argument. We still have to deal with the current costs associated with leaving the conference which we believe to be exorbitant. Now we have to file another lawsuit to get a ruling on that.
The ACC know if either us or FSU leave then the other dominos start to fall and the conference either folds or reconstitutes with other mediocre programs and becomes a shadow of its former self, and much less appealing from a revenue perspective when it comes to negotiating media contracts. If this happens there is a good chance ESPN does not renew in 2027.
Anyone who thinks all this gets settled in the next 2 months is fooling themselves in my opinion.

So you can join another conf by 2026 season.
The prevailing rumor is we have a landing spot in the B1G lined up already. Now we just have to announce we will leave one way or another. The lawyers are fairly confident the GOR terms won’t hold and we will have our media rights once we are gone. The exit fee will be negotiated down. Either way, you gotta start the exit process in 2024 to be gone in 2026.
I think many now see a likely offficial exit notice by Aug 15 by both FSU and Clemson. Some have reported it is a done deal even!

I am not in the know and have “heard” nothing form a cousin, friend of a neighbor or the like … but my opinion (from my limited knowledge, but that extends past TigerNet) is that we may know by that time IF Clemson can leave the ACC but may not know for several years on where they may go … if anywhere. Conferences can not just expand … especially when they have no idea what so ever what it will cost them.
The ACC will change (as is all of college football ) and teams have to have a place to go before they leave their conference … don’t see any major conferences looking to extend invites at this time … not even rumors … from any credible source. Many have opinions but in the end it will be the conferences announcing who they are (or may) extend offers. Once they decide it very well may take another 3 years for anything to happen.
Now I have been wrong before … and if you don’t believe me just ask my wife of 35 years … she tell you. Personally I believe anything else is just wild speculation.

Just went back and read correction on schedule until 2026 … I guess at least 27 or 28 all depending on:
1) Courts
2) Depending on courts … then other conferences have to make decision to expand
3) Once their decision is “yes” then they have due diligence period to take one or two years
4) Then if agreement is made then at least 2 more years to make it happen.
All this has been so far is the cart being put in front of the horse … but a necessary step.

FSU and Clemson are a lock to the B1G based on ongoing discussions behind the scenes. We shall. See, but if true, announcing an ACC exit by this deadline will be paramount to start playing a B1G schedule in 2026. Cheers too that 🍻

I’m sure the Big 10 teams “may not” have an issue with a conference game so far away … will take a toll on Clemson with all that travel … with minimal fan support on the road.

I'm with you. I too am tired of all of the prognosticators who just care about clicks and eyeballs so they constantly come up with their "in the know" references to what is about to happen.
Something will eventually happen; I just don't think it is right around the corner...
