Are you forgetting punter?

I could see a safety but dont know much about our punter situation.

How’s Jack Smith doing at punter. At 6’5” 245 lbs, he could put meaning into “put your leg into it” 🤣

We already got our LB. Definitely done there.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t go after another portal player though. Might be done, contingent on no current roster changes. In reality it depends on attrition. Seems the roster is set heading towards spring. Do we see 3 or more choose to transfer? We have 88 scholarship players, so what’s going to happen there? Seems something is going to have to give before we look for more.

LB, Alexander at 6'2" 249lbs is probably too heavy...

and will lack both the speed & lat quickness to run around in coverage or pursuit at the 2nd level in a 4-2-5 scheme and may even be a liability as a LB in a 4-3 alignment vs spread teams-

We're fine at LB....Brown and Woodaz will see majority snaps. Clayton and Anderson will get more PT...both have great potential. Def Safety and Punter....need Jones and Dixon to step up

Safety and more o-linemen ... and need Cade to stay healthy. With OL play, one or two of the young RB's will step up.

We should just pick out a half dozen *depth* players

Because after generally leaving their original team because of a lack of playing time, lots of elite level players want to transfer and sit behind guys (as depth) at their next team.

Easy peezie.

Doesn't matter, we don't have scholarships.

We miss a Dexter Lawrence type guy in the middle. Woods may grow into this type guy by the fall. A safety with the speed of a Mukaba would be nice.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

IMHO Woods is that player

Woods is not a DE and that's OK. When he gets healthy and in shape for the 2025 season, he will be a force at nose guard and/or DT.
