Congressionally passed "Federal legislation". It comes mostly from the bureaucratic State of Federal Regulations which no one votes on and whose agendas are very rarely stopped by Congress or the Courts.

The whole push to electrify everything is being done through Federal Regulation because the green energy cultists know their agenda would never pass Congress. Take the whole push to make most vehicles electric by the left... No need to have our elected officials pass a law when the leftists in the Executive Branch can use the EPA to set future gasoline engine emission and mileage standards so stringent that it is impossible for any gasoline engine meet them. See - they aren't outlawing the gas engine per se - they are only establishing a standard that no vehicular gasoline engine can reasonably meet. Same goes for all these new natural gas appliance standards...

The Regulatory State has become the most anti-democratic favored instrument of tyrants within our Government. They know that Congress and the Courts can't keep pace with their reams of new regulations and that in order to stop them it will usually take years of litigation by which time their agenda has already been implemented. Meanwhile - bureaucrats just pass whatever regulation they want with little regard to the business realities, the peoples desires, or the real costs in quality and affordability for consumers.

This is the nature of leftists. They can't simply let consumers choose whatever they want, it has to be dictated to them by leftists. You don't see the right banning electric cars, stoves or water heaters in any of the states it runs do you? Ever wonder why the left chooses force every time it has the opportunity? Ever wonder why so many people who constantly claim to advocate for tolerance and inclusion constantly vote for a party that utilizes brute governmental force to achieve all of its goals? Not very inclusive or tolerant, not that anyone with a brain believes that bs any more. The left will put a gun to your head and gladly pull the trigger the moment it has the power to do so, if you refuse to comply with its mandates. Don't believe me? Keep voting for them.
