Does College football seemed to have lost some of it's luster this year.

Sure feels that way to me.

I don't even think b/c my Tigers are 3-4 either. I usually always have some excitement for other games too. But this year, it simply hasn't been there.

I can't put my finger on it (it's not NIL, Coaches getting fired, or Clemson with a current losing record). It feels like something is lost, like the games are as exciting as they used to be.

It has for all the reasons you list. But mostly because we’re so terrible. Easier to look past dysfunction when you’re not getting trucked by Syracuse. Or everybody for that matter.

It sucks that we suck, no doubt. But honestly, I've found this season super-exciting. I've found other teams and storylines to pull for. This Pavia kid really intrigues me, and having went to a game at Vandy last year, I've been pulling for them. My gf is a Longhorns fan, so I pull for them and then my other usual teams. Watching both Texas AND Alabama pull victories back to back within minutes of each other on Saturday was awesome, and I can't say I'm sad about LSU and BK getting fired.

So, it sucks that we're not in it - but it's been exciting - at least for me. It's just a different type of excitement.

Not at all. There were great games Saturday just like there have been every week.

I used to spend all day Saturday watching. Now I may watch a couple games, but the thrill is gone.

NO! CFB is awesome this year because of the portal/NIL/parity. Clemson,

The new NIL era is slowly taking its toll.

Nothing slow about it, it was very rapid, and predictable.***

Then why all the whining and complaining? It was known that Clemson cannot compete financially on a yearly basis with the bigger schools.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh I dont know, maybe because its not the bigger schools that are crushing us

Its the no bodys as well - Cant even beat Syracuse now - Oh and by the way, we are funding this dumpster fire like a bigger school, so theres that too.

Live football is the glue that holds the commercials together. Bad enough, but when the game is back on they switch to anything but football. Just wondering how many folks wait to watch football on the youtube condensed replay. I've really enjoyed watching the UVA overtime game replays this season.

Yea. We still go to the home games but I have been doing a lot more hunting on the away game Saturdays. I try to catch our game but don’t watch many others.

It started losing its luster just after they implemented the playoff IMO. Other factors, including portal and NIL have made it worse.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.

I have not been as invested as in previous years but that’s partly because I’ve been very busy on the weekends and mostly because we are not relevant in any major discussion
