creating a platform for more programs to whine about being left out.
Playing for championships has, is, and always be reserved for the undefeated and nearly undefeated programs.
You lose two or three games, you'll be going to the Who Cares Bowl unless you win your conference outright. And even that's not a sure thing ... because, again, you're a two- or three-loss team.
This is not new. Clemson has to live with it. Bama, and possibly Georgia, possibly AZ State or IA State -- they too have to live with it.
What is new is ESPN being able to build entire Gameday segments around all the whining.
Win all your games and you're in. This is not hard to comprehend.

We can all whine about it. But until another conference comes along that draws the eyeballs and ratings that SEC games do, it's just how it is.
I personally don't think the SEC is any better from a football standpoint than the B10. But, again, it's a money game and they don't draw the eyeballs/pull the ratings.

You’re probably right as far as undefeated teams always getting into the expanded CFP.
Last season’s finale of the four team CFP was a disgrace; excluding 13 - 0 FSU was awful.

There is no "reserved".
There is one undefeated FBS team, Oregon.
There are a few one loss teams, Penn State, Indiana, Texas, Notre Dame.
You apparently want to reward teams that play a cupcake schedule so they can get more wins. That makes no sense.

If you play in the ACC it's a cupcake schedule. We played 2 SEC teams and lost to both of them.

It is what it is. It could be different next season but we have no choice in conference and apparently we cannot get out. Fact is win or lose we do schedule 2 SEC teams.

I said that teams shouldn't have wins over mostly cupcakes rated higher than teams that play tougher schedules. That's not penalizing, anyone. It's just a fair evaluation.
That's not the same thing as how you tried to spin it.
And...when the scheduled are made isn't pertinent. It's when they are played, the results, and the relative SOS that matter.

No matter the number there will be some teams that just miss the cut. Changes will be coming that insure Big and SEC get four each though. You can mark that down.
