the number of years he's been here. You would expect the "forever" coach to have more of everything. The thing he doesn't have a lot of is notable postseason success. Instances of notable postseason success are statistical outliers, especially considering how long he's been here. His most notable accomplishment is finally ending the drought in Chapel Hill.
If you disagree with that, then answer this question your honor: Will Brownell be able to build on last year's success? Will we be competitive in the ACC this year? Any chance for a deep ACC tournament run? You probably follow our basketball program as closely as anyone here... what are your predictions for the '24-'25 Tiger Hoopsters?

Unfortunately, those who have a problem with Brownell - and who oddly enough still criticize him despite having what is arguably our best season in program history last year - don't seem to care.
They always try to explain it away by using his longevity at Clemson against him. I find that really weird, since he has obviously done something right to keep his job and continue getting raises and extensions. He's also very devoted to Clemson, something some of our previous coaches cannot say.

who has coached our men's basketball program.
His NCAA Tournament winning percentage is better than everyone besides Bill Foster, who benefits from only making it once but doing really well when he got there (3-1).
Brad's NCAA Tournament winning percentage is better than Cliff Ellis, Rick Barnes, and Oliver Purnell's Clemson tenures.
Regarding next year, losing PJ Hall is a big loss for sure. However, I really like who we have coming back as well as our additions through high school recruiting and the transfer portal. I expect us to once again be very competitive in the ACC and put ourselves in a great position for another NCAA Tournament.

Coach K has the most losses of any Duke coach. I believe Dean Smith has the same honor at UNC.

I was providing a list of coaches who had the most losses at their schools but were still great coaches as the LF and the weird cant seem to grasp that distinction.

I highly doubt it unless we get consistently MUCH better.
Naming anything after him would be like naming something after Tommy Bowden. An average coach who pulls out a strong finish in the year he is on the hot seat and gets a new contract.

That would be things which have never been done at Clemson but possible as he has already opened the gates on distinction with his wins at UNC plus two elite eight appearances
