Fact! Continue with a batting average under 300 would not get him a top 5 pick. So if he continued that hitting would land him way down the draft board. Thats not an opinion.

We’re never gonna agree on this Cantrell. It doesn’t come down to the criticism. It’s the timing of the criticism that’s not warranted at all. The season started 2 days ago…….in football you have 12 games guaranteed so early judgment is very warranted. You’re expected to be great right out of the gate. Basketball is somewhat in the middle. Some losses are ok and some teams need time to get going…..baseball is completely different. Some players are great right out the gate. Some need a few at bats. Some need 15 at bats. Some need 30 at bats. It’s how it is….
If you think you can label a kid as “struggling” after 5 at bats then we are just never gonna agree on this

I’m gonna agree with you here… some ppl either don’t understand baseball at all or simply could have had too much to drink and made an emotional which happens lol it’s baseball it’s literally a game based around failures … pitching is usually always ahead of hitting this early … if he had been hitting .200 after 15 games then yes I would say he needs to pick it up and not looking like his top 5 projection… also baseball isn’t drafted fully on stats , they look a lot at potential and projections down the road … rarely if never do you see a kid get drafted and make an immediate impact at the mlb level.

Me either. The kid is definitely tough. The way he played with a torn labrum last year was impressive. I didn’t think anyone could surpass Greene as my favorite Clemson baseball player but Cam may do it!

He’s been one of my favorite players we’ve had in a while and yeah he’s definitely tough. He’s one of the very few old school players who wants to play through everything just to be on the field. Players these days stub their toe and want to sit for weeks.
