Nothing about Cade is impressive. Nothing. I’d say he’s slightly better than DJ.
I think we got to circle the wagons and regroup. This program is at a crossroads ….

Amazing how spoiled some guys get after deshaun and Trevor. Cade is learning and I think he will be fine. If you don’t have eyes, he’s improved with every game. Way more accurate and faster than DJ, not to mention the fire and energy he plays with.
Once the game slows down more I think he’s going to have a pretty good career here.

Spoiled?? For 3 seasons we have a QB in training on the field. How did we wind d up in this position that we don't have experience at the most important position on the field? Meanwhile our competition has experienced QBs lighting it up. It's becoming more and more important to have an experienced QB at the helm. This must happen no matter what the cost.

Weird I saw it very differently. I saw a talented QB with no playmakers to throw the ball to. If he had Sammy and Nuke, or Willams and Renfrow, or Higgins and Ross and Rogers, things would be different for him.
Certain coaches on this staff aren’t Clemson worthy.

I think Cade did a fantastic job, outplaying Travis, The scoop and score wasn’t his fault, but it changed the game. He made some mistakes, but they were overcome. The missed field goal with 1+ minute to play would have won the game.

Cade threw the ball (to the side) when we should have been running the ball at that point. BTW, were you not watching the same game as me when Cade kept throwing into double coverage. He should have had 3 INT's to go with those stats you quoted. 3 plays were the difference... 1) scoop and score (I think that makes 3 this year, 2) pass to side when should be running out the clock, 3) missed chip-shot field goal. Defense gets an A, offense gets a D+, and coaching gets an F.

Another nominee for dumb post of the day!
19yrs old, 5th start of his college career. He is way ahead of where he was just 3wks ago. Dude looked good today! Stats says he wins tough game but 2 plays not on him cost us the game.

So CK throws for 65% with 280+ yards and 1 TD, and rushed for a TD against a good FSU team and he sucks? Your logic is wrong. Go back and look at the stats from today's game. The numbers don't lie. We were the better team. We made a mistake that cost us a turnover that ultimately cost us the game.
I swear I don't understand some of you guys. Your logic makes no sense what so ever. Does nobody remember all the PICKS that DW4 and TLaw threw when they were in the beginning of their careers. SMDH!!!!

I agree. He has no field awareness & very brittle. I think you could thump him & he would flip over.
Wont beat SC or ND with this team. Sad how far this program has fallen so fast.
Tajh Boyd 2.0….plays a good game here & there just enough to stay #1 while program slips into irrelevance

Had FSU missed their FG and our D forced a fumble scoop and score, then we'd be talking playoff run right now. Travis got the benefit of all that for his team to stay in the game.

Did you watch the game? He throws the ball on time and on target. He’s made a couple of bad decisions but he’s gonna be a really good college QB. I wished he had a down field threat (or two) that DW and TL had.

Is that on him or on the coaching staff? There were several boneheaded plays or lack thereof that falls squarely on the coaching staff.
Throw a screen on 3rd and less than 1 in OT. Never should have been an RPO called, but never should have passed it either.
Accept a holding penalty when it would have been 4th and 3 and a definite punting situation. Then have to use a timeout because the defense doesn't know what is going on.
Get a first down so that the clock stops and then NOBODY on the offense is trying to get to the line to clock the ball. The clock runs out and we don't have a chance to try a 65 yard field goal to win.
Not sure how these young men don't have better situational awareness from their little league, but our coaches have certainly failed them as well.

Spot freaking on my friend...he is AT BEST a poor mans johnny manzelle...except hes somehwere between johnny and the nfl version of baker mayfield!!! I was so wrong and just trusted our coaches decisions on the program and recruiting...and iah honesty they earned that trust with their record, both on and off the field!!!
But here is the simple and most honest assessment i can give..:.they hit a grand slam on dw and trev...they have whiffed badly on dj and klub?!!! Thats it at the end of the day!!!

Hes like Kelly Bryant in my mind... played good enough to win today for sure. We can go 11-1 with him next year or the year after depending on how the rest of the team looks, but I dont see us winning a NC with him. Depends on how he develops. Bo Nix used to look average, and now........

Are the norm. They are not. You are spoiled. Cade did a good job today. The fumble was on a missed block by Mafah. Cade will get wiser as he goes. Is he Deshaun or Trevor? No. But who is?

The blitz wasn't from his blind side. Maybe Mafah should have seen it and picked it up, but Cade should have seen it, as well, and not been in a position to fumble the ball.

I am not saying that these aren't growing pains that are understandable due to his lack of experience. I am just saying that it is not all on Mafah for missing the blitz pick up.

Are you serious lol he looks fine and is def improving … he should have had more pt last year to work some of this out but no we refused to let that happen with the great DJ. He will be a great one he’s very young and ppl need to quit comparing every #### qb to Trevor and DW… that’s not realistic at all

CK's clutch time (after the third quarter) stats for the Duke & FSU games. Combined 14 completions in 28 attempts (50%). 104 total yds passing. 0 TD's; 1 INT. Longest completion has been 13 yds. He was 7 for 14 in each game.

Having two generational QBs back to back and then Dj
2
Sep 24, 2023, 12:52 AM
|
|
And all his s$it has really messed up everyone I think. Typically it takes 3-4 years for a QB to be good. Look at Alabama this year. Bo Nix, Travis, even the Coot, the Duke guy they’ve all been around forever. Jordan Travis is a 23 year old 6th year senior. Stetson Bennet was like 25. Burrow was like 23, the point is Cade is really in experience a true freshman. What we are experiencing and seeing is normal for a freshman starting. What Trevor did as a freshman may never be done again, on any team. Cade is already better than all of those top guys when they were 19, he will be fine.
