Tigers win this game without Mitchell playing

First off, YES he was fouled and the refs blew it at the end. However, throughout the game, Mitchell was constantly over penetrating and throwing up crazy off balance shots that rarely went in. He once again led the team in turnovers and played poorly on the defensive end. For a guy who thought about leaving for the NBA, he's been a real disappointment his senior year. Hat's off to the rest of the guys who held their own against a much more talented UNC team. Tyson Hunter & Javan White proved that they are worthy of getting some more PT down the stretch...John Newman just seems lost to me and don't know if he'll ever make the grade as a factor down the road.

First off I don't think he was fouled and even if he was his two shots, at best would have sent the game into O.T. However, even if he had been fouled,I think it was not called for the obvious reason you stated in your opening remark. He was trying to penetrate between two defenders, and IMO, looked to be off balance and probably would have missed the shot as time expired. Regardless, I see a bigger issue here, and that is Clemson, as a team seems to forget it's a 40-minute game, not a 39-minute game, and in the four losses Clemson has suffered in the last month, it just seems they play as if in some sort of panic mode.

seen that he was off-balance because the guy behind him had his left arm on his shoulder blade, and that was the foul that should have been called. But I do agree that the ball should have gone to someone open for a 3-pointer to win since he was double teamed.

If he is on a break he almost never gives it up. So what he did was very predictable. I would have liked to see us tried to get another shot. Mitchell can do great things but sometimes he does stuff a fifth year guy shouldnt do

No way do we win without him but he’s certainly NEVER going to help at the end of games. Reed either on last second possessions. Reed makes every basketball in the final minutes leading up to it but once that last possession gets here u can guarantee they won’t make it. And it’s those 2 that take every final shot. We never want to use Thomas or Simms

And who’s gonna be the PG then?
Reed’s got enough on his plate. He doesn’t need to be full-time PG.
Mitchell scored 11. You expect that out of Newman?
Mitchell ain’t the problem. Missed free throws from Thomas at the end of the game hurt. Cam Johnson hitting a contested 3 as the shot clock expired hurt. Lack of defensive rebounding at critical points hurt. Not being a traditional ACC Basketball power hurt. The last one always hurts us when whistles need to be blown.

No no no everybody know Thomas struggles on FT’s. That’s not controllable. What is controllable? Brownell drawing up a last second play. And he didn’t. Admittedly he should’ve called timeout. So he choked in the biggest moment of his coaching career? Good job Brad
