Orange Bowl is either 1v4 or 2v3, per playoff committee

Nov 30, 2015, 6:55 PM

There's some misinforming going on. If we end up #1, we'll be in Miami. If Alabama or Oklahoma - or pretty much anyone else in the running - ends up #1, then 1v4 will be played in Dallas.

Now, can we get back to getting excited about THIS week's game?

#1 seed plays in venue closest to where they are

Nov 30, 2015, 7:16 PM

So, we go to Orange Bowl if we are #1 seed because Ft. Lauderdale is closer to Clemson than Dallas.

If Bama or Oklahoma jumps us and goes to #1....they would be closer to Dallas than Ft. Lauderdale, thus making us as a #2 or #3 go to Orange Bowl.

So, either way, we are going to be in Orange Bowl if we win Sat.

Not to confuse...but doesn't 1 get to pick which you would assume they would choose based on geography for the fans? The players may would want to play in Jerrys house for the experience....just saying. Go Tigers!

No. Players don't pick :)***

Obviously not...but the point is soeant 1 get to choose? It's not automatically closest venue.

No, they don't get to pick. #1 seed is sent to closest venue of the playoff locations. No choice.

we would want to play in a stadium we have already played in

and that is Miami - we already played The U there this year.

You want FAMILIARITY over new tourist experiences.

Since the games locations are not set, I can see one and a half scenarios that would land us in Dallas:

#1 Alabama v. #4 Oklahoma - The committee determines that this would give Alabama a disadvantage due to the more "road-like" atmosphere of being so close to Oklahoma territory.

(the half scenario because I don't think it is likely) #2 Alabama v. #3 Oklahoma - Same as above and the committee, trying to help 'Bama, determines that it is "less of a disadvantage" to have us at #1 playing #4 ISU/MSU in Dallas than it would be for Bama. I don't see this happening, but stranger things have happened.
