No pump or Dump on S and C truth will be around draft time.

When Freeman goes and reps 225 we will see where Batson has put him. Just a heads up A. McClain RG in 2011 put up 19 reps fyi thats veryyyyyy bad truth will be told soon along with other Sr's at the draft.

That's the problem right there.

How does bench press translate to the field and create on-field explosiveness?

If the offensive line had their back to a brick wall and were forced to push directly outward in a slow, calculated fashion, it might apply. But that's not football.

Tired of hearing about how much people can bench and squat. The question is how much force can you generate when you launch off the ball during the snap.

Lmao reping 225 shows muscle endurance and explosiveness. So if thats not important then why do it at the combine.

Perhaps it demonstrates endurance. But bench pressing is not a fast-twitch exercise, and thus doesn't really indicate explosiveness.

Hail, the vertical jump is a better indication of explosiveness than the power weight regimens.

Yeah how did Batson win all them awards?

Why did Philpott say he got so many text messages from former players saying when they came to Clemson they were boys, when they left they were grown men? Why did Philpott say when he watched the team workouts last year, he was amazed at how brutal it was. But I guess you know better huh?

I switch on the game tape, Bryant. All that hearsay doesn't mean nothing to me.

I saw WITH MY EYES Dalton Freeman get owned by Wofford's 260 lb nose guard last year. I watched Travian Robertson bullrush our interior line on several occasions. I consistently see defensive backs who aren't strong enough to jam wide receivers at the line of scrimmage. I see a team that struggles in short yardage every year.

I'm glad he's won all those awards. I wish it translated to the game tape though.

Is it going to show up EVERY PLAY in EVERY GAME? Is it going to show up against Wake Forest and Maryland? Maybe not. But in the 3rd and 4th quarter, it shows up against bigger, stronger teams. I watch the lines.

We've won a lot of ball games in spite of our lines for years. Again, I'm no expert. Not anymore than Philpot is. But I know what I see...and don't need people to tell me otherwise.

Bench reps are a good indicator of muscle endurance at the combines, although I've often though that power cleans show more explosiveness and body control potential, which translates more to on the field performance better.

John Lott (sp?) nfl trainer says the 225 rep is one of the most important test they do at the combine not my words his.
