Explanation for noon kickoff with coots.

I just read this on my phone. I don't remember the source. It was the pop up choice when I opened Chrome.
Gist of the story -
Espn is ticked off at Dabo because he refused to move the game to Friday night. So, in retaliation, they gave Clemson/SC the noon time slot and put FSU/uf in the prime time slot.

I wouldn't doubt it. I admire Dabo for sticking to his guns.***

Why does there have to be a conspiracy about this game? Both teams are good, so they want to maximize as many viewers as possible. It likely ends up being a highly competitive game. But...
Auburn vs Alabama kickoff at 3:30 Texas vs Texas A&M kickoff at 7:30
Both of those games would pull viewers away from our game.
It's really not that difficult to understand.

I understand about TV, viewers and money, but I do not care. There is only one meaningful football game on Thanksgiving weekend. It's the most important game EVER... until the SCar game next year. I don't care whaat time it is, I don't care what channel it's on and I don't care about the "championship implications". I only want us to win.

This makes the most sense. In reality, our rivalry is behind the two listed by Leon in prestige and popularity. They have the 3 biggest rivalry games in their own time slots so everyone can watch and they get the ratings they want. No conspiracy here.

Not to mention the two games above are in the central time zone so a noon eastern kick for them would be a horrible 11am start in late November.

Texas/Texas A&M game will be pretty big. I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’ve even played in a while. Our game with the Coots is a mid interest rivalry game. In reality only one if the teams are a big time name and that’s the Clemson Tigers.

Clemson v USuC for most people is only of regional interest. Neither team is this year is making an impact nationally. I think a noon kickoff is reasonable, even though I would prefer a night game at home.

We need to win that game. They're actually trending in a direction where they can be physical with us because of Sellers and Sanders. Those 2 are going to be a problem if they get through the line of scrimmage against us.

ESPN is a piece of trash and have helped to destroy the game of college football and also the Heisman trophy.

TV wise. The noon slot on ESPN is more valuable than the 7pm ESPN2 slot.

Personally I like noon games and 3:30 games. The trend for viewer ratings seems to be toward noon games thus from a TV perspective is the most attractive spot. I will fully admit i am in my 50s now and night games don't excite me as much as when I was in my 20s though.

THAT IS TOTAL BULLSH!T. NOON IS NOW A PRIME GAME FOR ABC AND ESPN. WHY IS EVERYTHING SOME KIND OF CONSPIRACY THEORY. DOES EVERYONE REALLY WANT TO BE AROUND A BUNCH OF DRUNK A$$ COOTS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Funniest part about that is that they have no problem screwing the mighty SEC coots. If it were Alabama, LSU, TN, UGA there's no way they would give them the nooner over Florida. But because it's lowly South Carolina... no hesitation to sacrifice one of their own to get a shot in at Clemson.
