Is there any reason that the fan base is not using the name “Big5Stinko”? I’ve heard a bunch of people using it and was wondering why it hasn’t been posted here. To be clear, it seems a little unfair, but just thought I would pass along since the Tiger community seems to be using it everywhere other than this forum. Thanks!!

Our starting center was out for the bowl game. It was only fitting that we finish the season with a patchwork O-line. I thought the offense looked as good as could be expected given the available personnel.

PBT - with everything going on and the opt outs, transfers and Covid cases - I thought we had a solid gameplan.
Do you not give them the benefit of the doubt because of those things?
Were you thinking it was going to be totally different in 3 basically 3 weeks one being a travel week?
There wasn't enough time and available players to evaluate this offensive staff. Not enough competition at the QB position either. Who would have played if DJU got hurt?
So, to me you must grade on the curve if you consider all of the above. It's simply too early to say if it was a bad hire in my opinion.
Just wondering if you considered those things; not trying to be argumentative?

The staff messed up his recruitment? He was the #1 or #2 QB in the class by every service. Every single program would have taken his commitment. Development when on campus, maybe? But there are so many variables and he didn’t have playoff caliber talent around him on the offense.

Idk, strange times and strange situations. How many teams have replaced OC, DC and AD within the end of the season. Could have done a lot worse. Just my opinion but personnel changes would have a greater impact than coaching changes.

Don’t know why game you were watching. Very different on offense. Shipley drifted into the flats on almost every pass play giving DJ an outlet. That was something that we hadn’t seen all year and I think it made DJ more comfortable. He extended several plays and improvised more than any other game this year. The “chest pass “ that Shipley dropped was a thing of beauty on DJ’s part. Y’all need to watch the game.

I recall Pace taking one left for a big gain while everyone pulled right. I also noticed the lack of reliance on screen plays, which were a staple (and not very successful) for the offense during the regular season.
I thought we got too conservative our first drive on the last series but otherwise it was a nice gameplan vs a preety highly regarded ISU defense.

I disagreed with the hire, but I'll cheer him on as long as he is in the spot. I don't think that you can judge much tonight, especially after the pick 6. I think that he was given a type of game to call after that. I am just glad that Caldwell is retiring. Don't think that Elliot or Streeter had the authority to let him go, so don't think that you can pin the o-line on the OC.

there are a lot of positives and negatives to it.
The positives are that it keeps your staff engaged and motivated. You can reward people in your organization who have contributed to its success.
The negatives are the lack of innovation or outside ideas. It can also limit critical objectivity and outside successful person could bring.
But what do I know, this is my PhD area of study.

Is it really fair to judge either coordinator on the results of a single game at the end of the year when they’ve had their positions for less than 3 weeks and only a week or so of practices?

There are plenty of other teams for a fan like you to root for . Clemson certainly doesn’t need the continued negative atttitude snd comments. Thinking you would be fabulous as cooterville fan

IMO Streeters playcalling and game management was impressive.
Streeters QB coaching was questionable. DJ and Lawrence were already amazing and any coach would look good with them. DJ seems to have gotten worse by the minute.
