So do you think there will be a deal in place for Micah

Jul 22, 2015, 8:28 PM

to return the rock for a reduced sentence?

I know some think 10 years is ridiculous and I'm not saying it is or isn't....I'm just saying that a harsh penalty will more likely make the punk turn the rock over if a deal is offered. If the sentence isn't harsh enough, the what incentive does that give the guy to turn over the missing piece?

He'll never get 10 years per charge, at the most I see him doing maybe 2 years plus Probation as a plea deal. I work in Law Enforcement, I'm almost certain there's some kind of plea deal in place. I'd be shocked if he got more than two years, and it wouldn't shock me at all if he just received Probation and no prison time...

He's not serving even 2 years. I think it's probably 50/50 he even goes to prison for a single day.

No he'll get some time at least, maybe something like 10 years suspended to service of 2 years, balance suspended to 5 years Probation. They'll give him a huge chunk of restitution to pay back to the University. I say this working for Probation, I know how the system works. They're not trying to send someone to prison for that long. It wouldn't do him nor the University any good.

no, it is too late to make a deal. Deals leave when you go

True. Judge still has the ultimate decision. It's in his hands, and Judges these days seem to be very lenient on crime...

Wouldn't that constitute blackmail on his part? "Reduce my sentence or you'll never see the piece of the rock again." Or something like that?

If he wanted any leniency he would've returned the piece in good faith a long time ago. He still thinks he can get off scot free.

as I said a few days ago,I'd make him wear an ankle bracelet

Jul 22, 2015, 9:02 PM

until he's 50 or so that doesn't allow him within 20 miles of Clemson, and would inject him with poison ivy or some really itchy malady if he did (not possible - I think ;)).

And I'd make him get a tattoo of The Rock on his forehead (OK....maybe his chest) so he can see it every day for the rest of his life when he looks in the mirror.

That punishment seems more fitting than prison.
