About half of us have been asking that question with a straight face since the Spring Game. I don't think it's a stupid question either.
I'm looking forward to the Furman game and I'll be paying close attention to the starters at QB, RB, RB and TE on offense, and the starters at CB for defense. I think there are some questions there about who will start.
The good news for all of us is that the depth chart comes out on Monday and then we're going to see a football game on Saturday. The KB vs. TL debate will be over during the Texas A&M game. We could beat Furman with Batson, but we're not going into Kyle Field without our best players at each position. I would like nothing more than to see KB come out and play lights out. He's certainly capable of it. And there is no doubt he's more advanced in his understanding of the offense than the other QBs. However, if he's not sharp on game days, then I suspect he'll be holding a clipboard fairly quickly.

question. I can't imagine how anyone who follows football, our coaching staff and this QB situation could think there is even a small chance, at this point, that KB will not be the starter for the Furman game.
0% chance of anything else... unless he's injured.

There are varying opinions (key word there).
1) KB will start based on the interviews given by the coaches on KB's performance over the summer. And, he's the returning starting. And, he has more game experience and knowledge of the system. I think that's a valid opinion with strong supporting points.
2) TL will start because KB struggled last year throwing in the same zipcode as wide open receivers. And, TL looked MUCH better in the Spring Game. And, like it or not, there's validity in comparing the KB/TL competition to Stoudt/Watson. In hindsight, Watson should've started in Game 1 of his Freshman year. He was the best QB as soon as he walked on campus. The same can be said for TL.
I totally 'get' both points of view. It's been a long off-season and the QB competition has created a fun discussion.
I'm in that second bucket. What I've seen leaves no doubt in my mind that TL is the best QB. I haven't seen any of the practices. And, per the coaches, KB is Practice All-American. I really, really hope that he's improved and can get the ball downfield with consistency and throw it faster out to the flats. Because unless we have a passing threat, defenses will once again stack the box, pin their ears back and shut us down.

Will be co-starters at QB. Dabo will flip a coin or let a Kelly start because of his seniority but both will be co-starters until one separates from the other. This also makes Texas A&M prepare for both of them. Chase will be number 2 and Ben will be 3rd string QB.
They will play this way until one of them really separates from the other about game 4-5 but both will see playing time period.
Just my opinion and I believe Trevor will separate as the dominate QB before our bye week.

Agree... 50/50 w KB & TL with KB getting the nod until or if TL shows obvious separation. Either way trust coaches to make the right moves. Let’s enjoy the show. Boys it’s gonna be grand. Spot the rock. Go Tigers
