Nikki Haley question for those willing to be honest.

We were told we chose the wrong candidate and Haley would have cruised to victory. We were told she would have brought in women, anti Trump republicans and moderate democrats. Here’s the question. Put your dislike of Trump aside. Do you now at least see what many of us saw when we chose Trump? Honestly I almost took the bait and was tempted to vote for Haley in the primary because of the above arguments. But I went with Trump in the primary and obviously in the general. Do you at least see what we saw?

As I continued to hear the arguments for Haley there was a time I sincerely questioned whether I made the right choice in terms of ability to win. I’m honestly blown away today seeing the results and now I do believe Haley would have lost in a close one.

I will expose some sexism here and I’m ok with that. No I don’t see what others saw in Haley as I personally think that women should never be burdened with the office of Presidency.
I also don’t see what anyone sees in President Trump. Great business man, but he’s warped politics for the worse. We will most likely never hear true platforms again. If people can’t see that they have on orange colored glasses, pun intended.
That’s not to say he was not the better option. It’s just a sad state when we are consistently having the choose the lesser of two evils. As a society this is on us as a whole.

doubt at any point. If Trump supporters are as pro-American and patriotic as they say, then they would've voted for her as the Republican nominee. If they're just blind Trump followers then it would make sense that they would abstain or try to write-in Trump.
I still think Haley would've been the better candidate. Hopefully she'll run again in 2028.

in the primary. She'd been off the stage too long. She'll need to find a way to stay in the forefront and be relevant during these next 4 years. She has a Sirius/XM program, but that's a pretty limited and relatively small audience. I doubt Trump will bring her on for anything else or that she would accept if he offered. She needs to find a way to keep her name and message out there, though. That'll be the key to any effort next time around.

I think she would have done better w women than trump, but not with minority women which Harris dominated in exit polls.
I also believe Haley would not have gotten as much support as trump did from male minorities. The tale for this election is that minority voters in swing states flipped around 10 points to trump, he still lost those demographics badly to Harris, but those extra 10 points was the extra he needed.
Hispanic male voter’s demographic actually flipped red this election. If it had been Haley I don’t see that happening. Does she still win, probably bc it is clear the majority was not happy w the direction of the country, which was evident in the senate races.

Although I still think she would've beaten Kamala.
I think it would've been much closer. A lot of people appreciate Trump's willingness to be bold, even if it sounds stupid because of all the politically correct nonsense that we're constantly beaten over the head with in our cancel culture society.

she would not have triggered the same level of enthusiasm as Trump, it would have been a much closer race. And again, she is slow-witted, she sounds like she is loaded Xanax, and labors to speak coherently. She is a dumb Dumb, but then again, Americans seem to like that.

There is no room in either party for anybody closer to center. Republican party controlled by MAGA where RINO is a slur. Blue Dog Democrats are wiped out and party bending over backwards for nutsos.
Some of the MAGA contingent would have skipped voting for Haley. Some centrist Democrat votes would have switched to Haley.
My $0.02 is Haley would be better for the country than either Harris or Trump.

Last night wasn't about Trump it was about Harris/Biden. Enough moderate voters were fed up with the way things were going and voted for a change. The Republicans convinced voters that a vote for Harris was a vote for Biden and it worked. The Republicans could have run almost anyone against Harris and won easily. Too bad they didn't choose someone worthy of the job.
PS I voted for Nikki she is far far smarter and more capable than Trump.

Answering a bit late, but wanted to chime in.
I was/ am a Nikki Haley supporter. I voted for her in the primary, and if she was on the ballot I would have voted for her instead of voting for Harris. I would have/ and never will vote for President Trump. My beef with him and his companies started way before the 2016 election. So I was a never Trumper before that was even a thing. I think he is a dishonest person. It has been proven multiple times over, prior to 2016. I still do not understand how the Evangelical Right has been able to overlook his short comings and make him their choice. It is what it is, but its still very troubling to me. Take that for what you will. I think if Haley would have gotten the nomination, I think she would have won the election if she faced off against Harris. I feel like she would have beaten Biden. But honestly am not sure. There is still a large portion of “women” voters that do not believe that a women should be president. So that is the reason for the bit of doubt if that would have been a scenario. You ask, “do you see what many of us saw?”. No. I don’t. I still just see a con man. I say this because of your question. I will try to be respectful to President Trump out of respect for the office. But I wanted to answer your question honestly. That all said, I will concede that I feel like the democrats messaging of “Protect Democracy” fell on deaf ears to me after the Biden/ Trump debate which lead to the appointment of Harris as the nominee. Even though procedurally it was ok for the democrats to do this, the whole situation made me extremely disappointed in the democrat party as a whole. A issue with the health of our president was covered up, no primary process, an appointment of Harris for what I feel were demographic reasons/ promises. Because if we are being honest, for over 3 years, she was pretty much off the radar on any real policy issues. And the only thing I heard her name attached to was the boarder, which I think most would agree is/ has not been a positive for either party. So again, nothing to really hang your hat on. But its also the Vice President so outside of having a pulse, its usually a silent job the majority of the time.. I voted for Harris and Waltz, but it literally was only because I was voting against Trump. Both parties, let me down in that regard when it comes to candidates.. I will close by saying I hope this election cycle puts to rest the whole “rigged election” nonsense. I pray that our moderate senate repulicans have some input regarding the replacement of C. Thomas and S. Alito that will sure to happen in the next 2 years. I hope 2 moderate candidates will emerge so that we have a good balance of ideas and thoughts in that branch of our government. I pray that the house and senate will be able to pass a balanced budget. There should be no excuse at all. They have the super majority that should not be a problem. In general I will just say a prayer that our elected officials do their very best to make the best decision they can with the information they have at the time. I love my country!

the fact that Trump ended up beating Harris doesn't change the validity of the original argument.
I don't know for sure, but I think without the NY case, 2 assignation attempts, and Biden's garbage comment, this might have gone the other way.

fwiw, my thoughts as part of the bro faction

I thought Trump was going to get absolutely dog walked. The policies that I like of Trump's over the Blue Team's weren't enough to win the election. He's such a doofus.
Edit to Add: I voted for Vivek in the primary.
But then, he started putting together an extremely diverse team. Diverse in thought, the diversity that matters. RFK Jr. Tulsi. Vivek. Then Elon got on board.
I'm leaning towards him learning some lessons and surrounding himself with people that actually share his vision (and yes, I think amongst all the dumb ####, he does have a non-Fascist dictatorship-esque vision. that was propaganda).
Thankfully the Blue Team was so arrogant in their notion that they thought the only thing plaguing this country was abortion. B/c they never pivoted or shifted their focus to counter this.
When Ron Paul got in at the last minute, I knew they were done. When I saw the early voting data, I put $20k down on it.
I didn't anticipate the bro vote pulling him over. The Gen Z males? C'mon. The hispanic population? No way. When he won Miami-Dade and Duval counties, I added $10k to my position.
There's a great energy around de-centralization across numerous pockets of policy and I'm all for it. Getting Ron Paul a seat at the table, hopefully, is the universe making things right.
Bro......if we go after the Fed. Coupled with an appropriate BTC strategy to hedge Brics de-dollarization efforts? Pants = creamed.
We comin baws. I'm euphorically optimistic for the time being. I'm sure that will subside, lol. But seeing the reaction at the polls is indicative that a lot of the elitist rhetoric falls flat on it's face.

I agree the diverse support team was a smart move. It showed Trump will be willing to find common ground with people he disagrees with on some issues. RFK is a great example. I also agree about the abortion issues. For months I kept saying “what are you doing democrats, granny can’t afford groceries and you want abortion to be your top priority?” That might have been the dumbest disconnect I’ve ever seen. The question now is will they learn?

He identifies with Karen anti-vaxers and those who read the title of an article and are all of a sudden a genius on the subject. Example? Looks at APM's post last night about why China and Bill Gates are allowed to buy up farm land. RFK has an answer, but its not to what he said the question was.
But I am excited to see how Trump is going to lower grocery prices, lower gas prices, lower house prices, fix inflation, increase security, fix the border, fix the war in Ukraine, settle down Iran, and fix the Israel war, and unify us all with success.
Trump has become the new version of Obama with all his promises.

Well, let’s give him a chance and see what happens. If Trump improves all those things you mentioned republicans will be extremely strong in the next election. If he fails republicans will get clobbered.

They have some really interesting theories on vaccines! You should definitely do some research on that.
