Yall keep acting like this team is awful when it's clear that offensively this is the best skill group we've had since 2020 and defensively we've gotten better every year under Goodwin. Obviously losing Wiggins, Trotter, and Mukuba on defense hurts but we've got future All-Americans in Sammy brown, Terrell, Woods, and Parker. As long as our oline can be average and Cade can get the ball to people and not turn it over alot I think we have a chance to beat anyone except probably Georgia. Anyways thanks to yall for reading.

I think you are absolutely right. I knee-jerk reacted all day at the spring game. Even with a few days having passed, I still don't feel great about Klubnik. That being said, I think we are in a better spot now than we were at the beginning of last season. I think our running game and defense will carry us a long way. As long as Cade is used to manage the game and make low-risk throws, we can be a 10 win team this year.

Just getting tired of the defense having to carry the offense. Hoping it all comes together this season.

Why are we accepting just a get by offense hoping they don’t fumble the game away?

What exactly are you looking for? Many times a just get by offense is what's needed. Alabama did it for years...... tremendous running game, so so quarterback fantastic defense and they've done pretty well. The name of the game is winning it doesn't matter how you get there. I've seen some pretty awful offenses win games in my day.

Fumbling the ball away was the biggest problem last year. And that is more of an individual problem and not an overall team problem.

We haven't had an above average offense since we made the CPF last. We might make it now with the expanded playoff, but won't get to the final 4 unless we have a way above average offense.

after last season...
1 - I want to feel comfortable with our field goal kicking game. 2 - I want to feel comfortable about scoring at TD when we have 1st and goal. 3 - I want our receiving corps to stay healthy.
If those 3 things happen, I feel it will come together.

All valid points. However, it must also be said that to this point neither our O-line, QB, or skill position players have proven to do what is necessary to return us to the top tier of college football. Is it possible? Absolutely! ...but being a pessimist is also warranted. Saturday was only a Spring game, but Cade did little to quell a lot of concerns.

I think people are alarmed by the fact that Cade looks exactly the same today as he did as a freshman! He has amazing physical tools, and is an incredible kid, but every time the ball is snapped he looks like he's saying "oh crap, oh crap, oh crap" in his head. He looks uneasy and antsy. I hope he settles down, but what makes us think he will after two and a half years of the same? Pearman is good, doesn't have all the physical tools Cade has, but has some really good ones. The difference is Pearman looks POISED! I don't think this can be taught. A player has it or doesn't. Tahj had it, Desean had it, Trevor had it. Not sure Cade does. So are people over reacting? Sure, but only because it's April, but the concern is genuine and valid.

This is what I don’t understand about highly rated players like Cade and DJ: They both played at the highest levels of high school football and were very successful there. They had to be poised at that time to achieve what they did. Fast forward to college and neither of them looks poised at times. I know the competition is tougher now but that happens when every player moves from high school to college teams. You have to step it up and progress and some star quarterbacks do. What happens in transition for the ones who don’t? Why does this happen? Lack of coaching?

I see your point: I feel torn about this

For the first time in years, I do see some objective reasons to feel better about the offense. The wide receiving core should be lightyears better than it was last year if everyone can get/stay healthy, but that's a giant "if." Additionally, in a drastic change from the previous 3 seasons, it actually looks like the WR depth could be excellent as well, though again, this group is going to have to prove they can stay healthy for the first time in years. I think Beaux Collins' departure will be addition by subtraction. Antonio Williams, Tyler Brown, Bryant Wesco, and TJ Moore should all be elite weapons. I think Troy Stellato has the potential to be in that group as well because of his speed, but he's got to get fully healthy and obviously he's always had injury problems. I'm still hesitant to trust Adam Randall, but I think we've finally at least seen some positive signs from him in the Kentucky game, the spring game, and in spring practice. Perhaps injuries were affecting him more than we realized the past 2 years as well. If he can start to consistently play up to his potential, he could be in that elite group as well. Cole Turner is a bit more of a wild card because of how little he's actually played due to injury. But he's shown flashes of potential as well, and if he can stay healthy, perhaps he could be an impact player as well. At the very least he'd be a great depth piece. I also liked what I saw from Tink Kelley in the spring game. He's more of a longshot: very young and raw, but I like his athleticism and I think he has the potential to develop into a very good player. So that's at least 8 guys who I think could all be great receivers. The tight end group also looks elite, with Briningstool, Patt-Henry, Sapp, and Bentancur. The issue is, I see no objective signs that Cade has actually improved. And if he can't play better than he did last year, this team is in trouble. The best WR's and TE's in the world can't make up for QB play that bad. So yes, I love the pieces. But the problem is Cade and the o-line.

I will say though with better weapons especially speed and length out wide it could make coaches jobs easier to help cade get the ball out quickly and to playmakers

Spring Games:
Are a waste of time.
Potential injuries
ALWAYS gives a false impression
NEVER allows one to see what an actual team is going to do in the Fall.
I've never understood the attraction.............................( but I've also never understood those who leave real games at halftime to go eat some more........leaving the stands empty during most of the 3rd quarter.)
But, that's just me.

People like to watch it because they're trying to get a better look at how the team might turn out this year but most people just don't think about the fact that it's really for the coaches and players to see where they are going into the summer
