I wondered what happened to him! Guess I missed the injury article in the fall.

I like the comment about him being 7 lbs lighter but him being stronger with more muscle. Fire Batson!

Does Wilkins stay at DE or move inside?

We lose Carlos Watkins at DT and we gain Xavier Kelly at DE.
Where do they use Wilkins next year?

Think we roll out
DE - Ferrell DT - Wilkins DT - Lawrence DE - Bryant
We are gonna miss Watkins, but will be faster on the ends.

Jordan Williams is going to be a star for us as well. It's almost unfair how much talent we have on the line.

I think we will have the best DL in the country, and i like the depth behind the starters as well. I think we will be better at LB as well. I do have questions about the DBs, losing Johnson and Tankersly.

Hoping Baker comes back strong.

Korrin Wiggins was never the same after his ACL tear so I'm not super confident, but if Baker comes back we have Mullen, Carter, Edmond and Fields along with him. All of them have at least some good snaps under their belt with Mullen being the least experienced but perhaps most talented. That's plenty deep enough considering we like to use a LB/S hybrid for nickel packages.

The real strength of any defense is up front and the Tigers have it. Pressure the opposing qb and rbs and the Clemson secondary won't have to worry very much.

Sounds like disguised blessings all around. Not sure what happened to the person that was texting and driving - hopefully not driving anymore and got jail time.
Couldn't be happier for you young man, we were praying that it wasn't serious and it sounds like it all worked itself out. Got some good ole life perspective. No doubt you'll be our next great DE! As Big Ben told us all, your time to add to that foundation. Now go win another natty!

treated the exact same as a DUI. Nothing is that freaking important, and if it is, pull over to text. At least a $##% drunk is looking at the road.

A researcher from the University of Utah conducted a study finding that talking on a cell phone while driving increases your accident risk fourfold. This is almost the same increase in risk as drunk driving. If texting while driving, the same study found the risk of an accident is eight times the normal risk.

Great news that this young man is going to be back and healthy. He is a great looking addition to this already great looking team, and I know he is anxious to contribute. Welcome Back, Xavier!

"All of those things are connected."
Jan 20, 2017, 10:24 AM
|
|
“I learned a lot of things. Football is football and life is life. I learned to be a better teammate and player, and that is the same thing as being a good citizen and student. All of those things are connected.”
This comment is, in a nutshell, why Dabo Swinney is the best college football coach in the game. Most of his players live this way and the ones that don't aren't around long enough to notice. When I was in school at Clemson I saw it first hand in the classroom. It's not all smoke and mirrors, it's a real commitment to being an all-around student-athlete.

This stood out to me as well, and I certainly share your experience. Clemson football is building men, not just football players! Great post!

Well said ! Thank you for sharing about the classroom. These are the stories those clowns called pundits should be doing !!! Not only National Champions but TRUE student athletes.
Heck, I couldn't graduate in 4 years and had nothing going on... Can't imagine star athlete and grad in 3. Wow.

That is one nice guy!! He hung around on the field after the NC State game for over an hour, signing autographs and taking pics, with a gigantic smile on his face. Made my 7 year olds season getting that pic with him. Been wanting to thank him.
