Tigers searching for go-to guy as season opener approaches

What kind of basketball team will Clemson be this season? Not even head coach Brad Brownell knows for sure what he has, but he and the rest of Clemson will start the process of finding out Friday night in the season opener. Full Story »

Just reading between the lines, but these lines don't paint a pretty picture.
When your Head Coch don't know what you got, what does that say about your Head Coach?

Hope we stop here with the negative thoughts. IMO, we need to encourage and push our team to success. Negative posts don't help. They may be true when compared to the future. But they may be wrong. I choose to exhort out team. Choose your position fans. Go Tigers.

We can't push a team to success. And there is nothing negative in a team that can't even win a first-round NIT game at home.
I want all of our teams to have success, but show me something you can pin your hopes on.
Obviously from what I read our Head Coach can't.

To each his own. LOL

Oh come on, you’re just looking for something to criticize.

Brownell has no way of knowing yet exactly which returning players will step into more prominent roles, and which new players will adjust quickly to the college game and our system. He has said in previous interviews this year that he expects DeVoe, Grantham, Reed, and Mitchell to be our leaders but that he is also excited to see some of the new players.

"Everybody needs to know that Coach Brownell is arguably the best coach to come through Clemson." -PJ Hall

You're not reading between the lines, you’re desperate to criticize.

Coaches, including Dabo, say stuff like this before every single season.

Dabo is winning games, conference titles, national championship appearances.
Brad can't win a first-round NIT game.

And there are the true colors.

Once again, all coaches say this. What Dabo has won doesn’t change that.

Are you going to the game tomorrow night?

And what true colors would that be?
And no, I won't be attending the game tomorrow unless you are willing to reimburse me the 500 dollars I am spending in the morning on a computer chip to get my car running.

So because of that you can’t spend $5 on a ticket? Right.

Are you coming to the game tonight?

Better to have seveal 'go-to guys' than one

Nov 10, 2017, 11:38 AM

i think the Tigers have several guys who can handle the ball and/or take a key shot

Mitchell and Reed can create and score

Donnal looks like he has a sweet spot-up 3

Eli T can score in the paint

if Grantham and DeVoe were more consistent/reliable scorers, this team would be very hard to defend
