"I don't know if the scoreboard got to them or if they were just scared, but there wasn't much coming from their players."
Love it.

A little trash talking is fine if you're good, but

I don't want to become a team that's known for trash talking. But I'm sure it felt good after the "experts" spent all last week shouting about how great the ND players are.

Perfect to describe what Kearse did to ND, perfect for his whole demeanor out there on defense and a perfect representation of our defense as a whole. If I'm not mistaken this picture was from when he rag dolled someone down.

Yep. Right after he had to hawk them down to save a TD.

Did Boulware's "tumble" after stuffing the 2-point conversion lead to the unsportsmanlike penalty call or was it something else?

I sure hope that the Tigers continue to play great football regardless of what plays are called. Only the end result matters ... to me.

I agree - something is missing. I hope the offense starts clicking soon. We can't count on defensive heroics every week.

Personally, I wouldn't generalize about the offense from this game. Rain is always really tough to play in. Our offense played far below its usual abilities, and it wasn't just the crowd. Dropped passes and fumbles are tough to avoid in the rain. If the play calling was conservative, that's probably the main reason why. As Woody Hayes said, "there are three things that can happen with a pass, and two of them are bad." That's three times as true in the rain.

This game could have been played in 90 degree heat with no rain and our lines on both sides of the ball would still dominate ND

Perhaps we'll have a chance to find out if you're right. Until then, I'll be more than happy to concede that you win the speechifying contest.

and maybe a few nuts. We won't see the cherries and the caramel come out until it's needed.
Why risk turnovers when you can run the ball?

Great game. Soaked to the bone and never left until game was over. Had a large Notre Dame group at the tailgate (wives and husbands of Clemson Grads plus our "Clemson Family") under the big tent. Ate big time and just enjoyed the festivities. Had 1 Notre Dame board member in attendance who is married to a Clemson Grad who spoke very highly of Clemson. After the game we finished off the leftovers and all the Notre Dame people were very complimentary of the game and outcome. Great time had by all and the Clemson D took care of business. Offensive kept us in the game and.put points up. Time to get ready for GT. GO TIGERS !!!

I think that whole "disrespected" angle is overblown.

I saw this "Notre Dame disrespects Clemson" thing more than I liked, and I have to say that there were a few comments that were blown out of proportion, probably by the news media. Zaire said we could play Clemson on the moon. He was saying pretty much the same thing that all the Clemson players and coach were saying, that we would play the same game we always did no matter who the opponent is or how tough the crowd (although I suspect that the moon qualifies as a neutral venue). Fuller's Twitter comment about going to be #savage wasn't intended to be a "be afraid, be very afraid" comment. He was saying it was going to be a tough game. And KeiVarae Russell is our Shaq Lawson.
Apparently, Clemson players aren't allowed to use Twitter; if they were, I'm sure that the media would have blown up some of the things that they said as well. (Notre Dame's policy is you can use it, but watch what you say. One kid got left home for fussing on Twitter about not getting enough playing time, for example.)
From what I've seen and heard, Notre Dame players had a great deal of respect for Clemson going in (maybe a bit too much, since we got blown out for the first 10 minutes). In fact, the general feeling is that Clemson is underrated just like Notre Dame is. Notre Dame has better reason to be as well, given their performance over the last 10 years.
Anyway, the best way to get respect is to go undefeated. Here's hoping that you do. If we go 11-1 too, we might both make the playoffs. If we do, I'll be looking forward to a rematch.

during the football season. I don't know the particulars on what was said or how the proposition was presented.
Most Clemson fans think it was a good idea. We also think that thwarting the media spin doctors was the goal.
Lord knows, Dabo give them the devil and thank God it's always after the fact these days.

If you want to see who really disrespects Clemson...

Look no further than the futures polls. Clemson is now at 27-1 to win it all, behind teams such as Georgia, Michigan, Ole Miss and USC. Notre Dame dropped from 15-1 to 30-1. Ole Miss, despite losing handily to 55-1 Florida, is at 22-1. Of course, they beat 17-1 Alabama too. Those guys beat each other, well, it is after all a loss to an SEC team. Doesn't mean much.
I'd say we are fellow disrespectees.
