It is so refreshing to watch a really good basketball coach . Izzy just called back to back timeouts to set up good offensive possessions with the game winding down . Brownell would have just stood there looking clueless with no pulse for when to call a timeout .

Izzo might be the most overrated coach in CBB history, that man is living off one title 25 years ago. I’m no Brownell bro, but he was cooking in those situations last year in the tournament, he called a timeout, drew up a gorgeous baseline play for a score that pretty much sealed it vs Zona. Had similar moments vs Baylor too.

6 active coaches have a national title. Officially Self only one with multiple - 2. Pitino has 2 but the one with Louisville has been voided. Izzo has 27 consecutive NCAA appearances and 8 final fours. Part of my anger with the madness that is the Brad Brownell era is that it requires this kind of consistency to actually win a title. That’s never, ever happening under Brad.

Unfortunately, Izzo has a guard completely intimidated by Auburn. Just chucking the ball at backboard. The bigs play technically sound but are overmatched by the Auburn players.
