Last year our offense drastically improved. Yet still struggled against the SEC. They average over 40 points a game against non SEC and less than 14 points a game vs SEC. So this offense will need to drastically improve some more in order to score on the good defenses we will play. Yes, I do believe they can do that. But I need to see it. I can't stomach another loss to the SEC.

UGA for sure. Coots did nothing, it was on us. And Texas.

How’d the offense do against Texas? Struggled? No. We had more passing yards against Texas than anyone else on their schedule. They were 3rd in total defense last year giving up 283 yds/game, and we had 412 yds.
Granted, we need to see a more consistent offense every game, but we didn’t “struggle” against 3 SEC teams.

We were down double digits to Texas and decided to open it up. Put it all in Cades shoulders. He played very well. We played way too conservative against USC. We had a lead and thought our defense would hold up. Georgia just wiped us, we weren’t ready.

last year, but most of those points came in what was almost junk time. But I never got to see the game in full. Can't really stomach to go back and watch it and I had to work when the game was played.

Nothing to be nervous about, it’s just a football game and the sun will rise on Sunday. Just enjoy watching the Tigers play.

We are not playing the sec. LSU is just one team that happens to be in the sec. On the other hand LSU is not playing the acc, they are playing Clemson. If we loose, we will hear all week about how sorry the acc is in football. Don't buy the hype.

Calm down. They have Brian Kelly that has lost all season openers at LSU. He has a knack for losing important games.

We have players too.....and we have had players that has bailed out Coach Swinney...and Coach Bowden. Thats what this game is going to come down to mostly. Garrett Riley better have something effective and potenant as far as plays and play calling is concerned.
LSU has multiple weapons that can take over a game. We better be ready to stop these guys

in season openers either ...not since Trevor left. Getting basically shut out by Georgia twice, curbstomped by Duke. Only win was against GT and we struggled for a while in that game too.

Of course if LSU loses they have let the SEC down and if you lose you have let the ACC down. When playing out of conference it goes beyond just two teams. I do think you will win that game

Im nervous like most of us here are. We have to capitalize on every opportunity. We cant drive down there and stall out in the red zone. Texas would have been a different ballgame had we not got stuffed inside the 5 in the 4th quarter. Gotta leave with points in the zone

Reasonable concern. Hype carries many people all over the place but...

we have little idea what to expect.
Last year we were not a great team. We made strides on offense, especially Cade, but we still played poorly on offense vs UGA and SCAR. Our schedule was unusually weak for a Clemson schedule. (Not our fault) I believe we will be better this year, but I thought that against Duke a couple years ago. I'm entering the game with lots of hope and no expectations.
Defense is the key to me though. Just HOW much better on D will we be. We have the personnel to be elite and I think now we have the personality to match it. Our DC last year was simply NOT a leader. Tom Allen seems to be an excellent fix. But it's his first game with us. That's not nothing.
I expect LSU to be much better this year. Better than any team we played last year except maybe UGA.
I will be a nervous wreck this game, even if we get an early lead. Go Tigers.

Cade is 19 and 9 as a starter. Until he proves he can win a big game, nervousness is understandable.

I expect us to win comfortably. Every conceivable piece is in place. Can we ruin it? Of course, but I expect us to be on point with the maturity and experience we have.
This will launch us into a great season -- perhaps one of the 4 best we've ever had.
Enjoy it.
And if we lose, as one poster said: the sun will still come up (much too early) on Sunday morning!

Seeing we lost to our last 3 SEC opponents…this is a MUST win game. The good news is LSU’s defense is really bad at best. No excuses…it’s time to produce!

Nothing I’ve seen from us in games that matter at home over the last few years calms my nerves. I’m hoping we’ve improved drastically in all phases of the game.
