Unfortunately, I don’t see a lot changing for the rest of the season. Pretty much everything is off the table at this point with the exception of the SC game, and they honestly look like a better football team than us right now.
Defense has been an absolute letdown. Offense has been hit or miss, but hasn’t performed against decent opponents.
Dabo has some moves to make or I’m afraid this spiral will continue. And yes, it’s been a spiral for the last few years.

Really? Bowdens years were filled with unbelievable losses. Early 2000’s I traveled to Duke only to see Clemson lose on a game ending field goal. OC Mike O’ Cain said after the game that he was confused by Duke’ s defense! This game was a week after beating miami he week before.

Not uninterested but def apprehensive and not excited. Unfortunately I think we may be approaching Tommy west era as much as Bowden. Last week we were mentally and physically outplayed in every phase. Shocking.

we have a FLOOR in this conference of 8-4/9-3, which allows Dabo to get to Double digit wins including a bowl..........which in turn makes Dabo think the program is consistently good........which leads to him thinking "nothing's wrong".................then lather, rinse, repeat.
We've been embarassed by the only TWO teams with a pulse on our schedule, but the path to the lauded "10 win season" is well in play and that's Dabo's fall back argument for the false sense of how good our team/program is.
ELITE is gone from the program............and has been for several years now.

I care deeply about this program and always will............that's why I'm so adamant about our coach seeing the REAL PROBLEMS and fixing them.................he doesn't and it's neglectful at this point.
He's tying one arm behind the program's back and asking them to win the fight.............it's a failing model in this era of CFB.

football team. We have the resources to be one of the best in the country and to completely dominate the ACC (and our instate rival). But, here we are. Fresh off a demoralizing loss at home where we were a 10 point favorite and had everything on the table in front of us.

Totally agree. With acc champ and playoff bid off table makes it hard to get motivated. We have been spoiled as fans for as great as run as we have had. Need to win out and finish 11-2. Go Tigers 🐅

Agree. I can handle a loss but to see us come out flat with no competitive edge after a two week break, night game at Death Valley. It does make me uninterested i have to admit.

Think what bothers me the most is I feel we have not played up to our potential and we may not get there all season.
Not sure why we cannot run 2 back sets on occasion to help in the blocking game. Special teams is atrocious. We do not block field goals or punts and rarely return any punts. 4 blocked field goals? I don’t remember having 4 in the last 20 years.
My BIGGEST concern is the DL and the LB’s. If you cannot stop the run against these better teams you will lose a majority of the time. Bad scheming or poor play but it is demoralizing to give up chunk runs.

Thanks. It’s very frustrating as there isn’t anything we can do as spectators. Hopefully those in charge put parameters in place over the next few years to salvage some aspect of what college athletics should remain to be.

between players and Universities. I think the only thing we can do is fans is perhaps watch fewer games across the sport as a whole (looking at you SEC and B1G) on Saturdays and this is what I have been doing.

…from what I have seen on the bookends of UGA and UoL, this Clemson team is going to get their butts handed to them this afternoon.
VT did beat Miami. I think that VT is going to come out strong and fast. Clemson will have to play from behind the entire game.
I base this on the lack of an elite defense, and it feels like Cade has gotten a serious case of the jitters.
I think this ends up 39-10, Hokies.

the move to a more semi-pro, players transferring whenever etc... breaks the emotional connection some have with the team.
In the past, a lot of fans were dedicated because these guys went to class with us, they walked the same campus as us and when they graduated often came back and were lifelong fans. And while 'these guys are just like me' was always lie, it was at least a plausible lie.
That cover has been ripped away now. These guys aren't coming to Clemson for any reason other than money. And if the money/playing time isn't to their liking? They'll bounce.
Expecting unswerving loyalty from fans in this new environment is not realistic. For good or for ill... too much has changed.

We are living through the last 2 season of Spurrier at South Carolina. Talent level is dropping and the bar is being internally lowered. Swinney will be in tbe ring of honor, but will be responsible for building it and unfortunately tearing it down. Our next coach will be forced to portal heavy to try to close the gap. You don't have to agree with me, but just sit and watch this play out.

I think that the NIL and the way the portal was allowed to do just as everybody pleases has made most fans shaking their heads from the way the sport of college FB has hit an all time low, and then when your team loses a game the way that we lost to Louisville that should have been a lock win for us, it takes the feeling that we were already having about college FB and shoves our faces deeper in the muck. That one loss took our team completely out of our control of us having what we thought was going to be another ACC championship, and hoping to go deep into the playoffs. Even with a 10 win season against the bad teams that we will have played, 10 wins will feel like a mediocre season for us, and it is very hard to get excited about that. But we should be hoping that it doesn't get any worse bc it could get worse before it's all over!!!

All of your 'truths' may be so in your mind just like Alabama's were after losing to Vanderbilt. Hitting on the key players and avoiding key injuries are the key to any sport year in year out. FSU the last 2 years was 1 example and Miami proved last week if your best player has a bad day, you lose. The parity in football let's anyone beat anyone these days. Chill and remember it's a sport for our entertainment and others profit.
