What a mess.
The military retention rate needed is down 45 percent. All you have to do is talk to those that just left. The Air Force sent out an email to all Air Force and Air Guard soldiers a few months back "Celebrating their first transgender drill instructor". One that retired asked me how would I like to take orders from an 'it' like that? They came up with gay pride patches and encouraged soldiers to wear them on their uniform for gay pride month. Couldn't make them but told them they would either accept it or say nothing. They've now got a 'You're Hurting My Feelings' card. If they are getting chewed out they hold it up and the officer must walk away and leave them alone. If the exercises or long march is not what they want to do they hold up that card, go over and sit down. They have to leave them alone even if they want to sit there the rest of the day. A high school diploma or a GED is now not required to enlist. I can go on and on. The liberal democrats have destroyed the country with all the debt and free printed money they have done and now the military is almost brought down, too.

My nephew who is stationed at Ft Stewart GA says it's all true and getting worst by the day. He has 432 days to go and there will be one less soldier in the Army. Per my nephew very few real soldiers are reenlisting.

The only people capable of governing themselves and prosecuting or winning wars are all literally attending MAGA rallies these days. Patriots. Who have coincidentally have been labeled as "domestic terrorists" by the little band of Marxists currently running Washington D.C.
When/if SHTF D.C. will sell us out to save their a$$. They know they don't have the chops to hang on to power without help from the outside.
Hopefully I'm wrong....but the only way I think we have an "election" this fall is if they know the fix is in and they are certain of the outcome. Otherwise....I expect something unprecedentedly bad to happen this fall. If Trump somehow ends up back in office he and his government are going scorched earth. There's no way D.C. is gonna let that happen.

It's really scary how Biden and the rest of the Democrats have destroyed this country. I know 3 people who's children were going to make a career in the military are getting out because of the woke agenda. Really sad to see.

I am in favor of mandatory service for everyone at age 18. A 2 year active duty commitment and a 3 year reserve duty. I served 6 years in the US Air Force and it was one of the best decisions I made. I grew disciplined, matured, learned to follow as well as lead and most importantly learned that " Freedom is not free." I also met friends who I share a lifelong bond with. I always here people talk about how much they love this country...Then I ask are you a patriot or a citizen? A patriot takes an oath, puts on the uniform, and endures being away from family on holidays/special occasions to protect our way of life. A military enlistment requirement will truly develop a generations of individuals with a better appreciation for this country.

QB ... I don't disagree w/you, but I don't see the anti-military, progressive left approving a return to the draft. Our reality is that in every war gaming scenario against China/Russia, we lose. I expect China to "re-unify" with Taiwan in the next 6 months ... and we can't do anything to stop it on Cina's home turf. GOD bless the U.S.

I think that is a good idea. Similar to Israel. More likely is a requirement to serve in a government position for 2 years after high school. The 2 years could be military or civil service.
