Need all my Clemson tiger fans prayers

I have been diagnosed with Stage III esophageal cancer. Starting 5 weeks of chemo/radiation followed in mid Feb 2016 by major surgery to reconstruct my esophagus and stomach junction and will propably be down for 8-12 weeks. What keeps me fighting is the thought of watching the Tigers run down the hill on Saturdays. I have not missed a home game in 10 years. I know we all love our Tigers but times like these put things in perspective so enjoy supporting our Tigers and dont get caught up in rankings, recruiting, what USuC jr fans think enjoy the Tigers for the classy way the program is run and the fine athletes/students/adults they turn out. Go Tigers!

I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. As a physician, I strongly encourage you to be your own advocate and research your options thoroughly. You have access to a lot of info online that will provide different perspectives from both the patient and physician perspectives regarding treatment for your cancer. Even if you still decide to take the route you mentioned, you will be much more informed and can feel that much better about your decision.

I am in the same battle. 2011 was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer and given two years. Well, it's 2015 and I'm still fighting. Yes the body has taken it's hits from 4 and a half years of chemo and trials but the tigers continue to bring smiles to my face. I had to give up season tickets in 2012 but I continued to get a parking pass just to sit and tailgate to enjoy the atmosphere of tiger town. I now have given that up because you can't buy a single pass with the high prices. I built a pond house on my 3 acre pond and every Saturday we go out and cook while we tailgate. So remember, there is hope and continue to fight and if you happen to be around South Congaree on a Saturday afternoon stop and shout. We will be at the pond house and pulling for the tigers.

He won that battle against esophageal cancer 9 years ago. A major surgery, chemo, radiation, the works. It was tough fight for him and all the family but we made it thru... it can be done my friend.

You will get our prayers. We have a dear Christian friend that went through the same thing and that was long time ago like about 10 years. She is doing fine with it. God will heel you. She had the same surgery at MUSC.
