Wondering if Pringle is going for Bama or if he is out as well with that heel bruise. That would be a huge one for them, as PJ and Ian would be able to own the paint if Pringle is out.

11:48 1st: RJ Godfrey with the strong bucket through the foul and Clemson leads 14-11 with a free throw to come. The Tigers had missed 8-of-10 before the make. They're still looking for a first 3-pointer, but Clemson big men have accounted for all 14 points so far.

6:05 1st: Clemson 26, Alabama 18. The Tigers had ballooned the lead out to as much as 13. Alabama is 2-14 on 3-pointers. They came into the game ranked 28th nationally in 3-point percentage (36.8).

Half: Alabama 35, Clemson 32. Clemson came in trailing only 50 seconds of game time this tournament, but the big Tide run gave the advantage for 3:14 off the clock.

Clemson's last halftime deficit overcome was at home versus Pitt (4 pts) en route to a 69-62 win on 2/27. The last win when trailing at the half away from home was in Asheville versus Davidson (5 points; won 68-65) on 11/12.

Alabama continues to drain the threes and takes its largest lead yet, 68-59, with 6:12 to go. They are 8-of-12 this half on 3-pointers, which is more made threes than any NCAAs opponents vs. Clemson in a whole game.

Yeap we are done without Hall being in there. The sad thing about it is this was the best chance to get to the final four with these good players we had. But you have to play smart and Hall hasn’t always done that.

Brownell: First off, what a basketball game. Fans were treated to some high level play. The shot-making was elite in the second half...I needed to do a better job of preparing my team for their offense...Proud of the team. Our players are such good kids and they represent the school in an unbelievable way. I'm just sad I won't get to coach them all again. Congratulations to Alabama.

Hall on Alabama: They made big shots. They really spread us out. They hit big time shots and we couldn't quite get the misses to make a run. Credit to them. That was big-time basketball.

Girard on Alabama's 3-point shooting: They shoot them fast when they get rolling. Feels like they'll never miss one. They have good positioning to get open shots and they just made plays.

Brownell says Alabama's offensive style makes any lead or deficit even bigger despite the scoreboard. Quality of play in the second half was unreal. Says he is disappointed in the rebounding deficit. Says his team played well but couldn't get the stops needed to win the game.

Brownell credits Alabama for playing "modern basketball." Says they were getting shots up before Clemson's defense could get set. He liked the play in the first half but the second half "was a little too quick for us."

Regarding pitch to transfers... Brownell says Clemson has tremendous people, coaches, athletic support and administration. Says it's a great place to live and touts the two Sweet 16 appearances and more postseason bids since Littlejohn was renovated. He says Girard's story tells it as good as anything he can say.

Brownell on PJ Hall, Brownell has to pause because he's emotional: He's obviously special because he's a Top 50 guy in our state who stayed home. That kid has been through the war. He's had major surgeries. The best thing about him is he's just a regular guy. One of the reasons we're in the Elite 8 is our best player allows me to be demanding of him. His parents deserve an unbelievable amount of credit and it's been a pleasure to coach him.
