National Championship Tickets

I know we need to win Saturday before we even talk about the playoffs but I'm trying to get an idea of how much it would cost for 2 tickets to the national championship. So to the folks that went last year how much were the tickets and did you get them via IPTAY or a 3rd party vendor?

Think it will depend on who gets to the game

If Washington makes it, then tickets should be reasonable. If it's any 2 of Bama/Clemson/OSU, they will be sky high.

I paid $300/ticket the day before the game on stubhub for club seats that were in the endzone if that helps.

Young alum. Bought mine through iptay (I have very few points) paid $450 a piece. Upperdeck sideline. Not bad seats but same seats were selling for less than half the price I paid few days before the game. The extra game the playoffs have added had a lot to do with it. I did all three post season games last year and my credit card still hates me. I won't be able to do it again.
This year though $450 might be a good price. It's obviously much easier for 99% of our fans to get to Tampa vs Glendale

Last year face value was $650 for lower level. This year, face is $550 lower and $450 upper level. Sinc its in Tampa, don't expect to find one at $300 like last year when two teams were traveling across the country. But $650 was an awesome experience though...

We got tickets at face value through the University for the game and they were lower level but literally the last row in the end zone. They were folding chairs instead of regular seats. Because the seats were dropping so much on StubHub before the game, while in the stadium, I used my phone to upgrade our seats and sat 5 rows back from the Goal line for about $150/ticket.
I don't see any of that happening this time around if Clemson and Alabama make it to the Championship. The prohibitive factor to going to the game last year was getting there. Two fan bases in close proximity to each other with virtually everyone flying though Atlanta or Charlotte meant the cost for plane tickets was sky high if you could even find them. With a Clemson/Bama Championship, it's easy to drive there and therefore game ticket prices will be exorbitant.

Distance kept fans away last year

won't happen again. people that were able to get tickets through IPTAY last year won't have a chance this year (a bit unfair since I took quite a haircut buying 4 from the university). more people will turn to secondary markets and drive up demand there.
if it's Clemson vs Alabama ticket prices could easily double face value 450/550
