Myles Murphy

Owns. Anyone notice the BC left tackle (MULTIPLE TIMES) would just grab onto him and pull him down with him when Murphy bull rushed him. No call every time. Inexcusable how the ACC refs look the other way with holding against our D Line. When all we have is defense this year, it takes a lot of the fun out of it for me and just makes me mad. Either way, Myles Murphy is a bad dude.
Go Tigers!

Dabo needs to send some film to the Commissioner's office. We are constantly being held every game and very penalties are called.

What's really sad...

is that Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis are missing and opponents can go back to double-teaming Murphy on nearly every play like most of last year.
He's a beast but it's up to our DTs to create some havoc too.

I noticed that also. Their LT, Vrabel the NFL coach's son, was holding MM on every play. He pulled him down on one of their long passes to the TE, and that was a huge play in BC's only TD drive. A holding call on that play, and BC likely would not have reached the EZ.
Our DLs were held on most passing plays and no calls.
ACC officiating is terrible.

It’s a feature of our basketball Conference, not a bug. The ACC thinks that Clemson’s DL is too good and therefore allows other teams to hold. Constantly. In the name of fairness and sportsmanship. And they are very consistent in this. Sometimes they also need to make phantom calls on us such as “roughing the passer” with a “blow to the head” that didn’t actually occur to help our opponents keep drives alive. These things are nothing new.

You're correct. The ACC has always rigged the football officiating against its better teams. When Florida State was killing us, they were among the most penalized teams in America. Yet they couldn't draw a single holding call with future NFL studs against the Wake Forests and Dukes of the 90s? And now Clemson, with its long line of NFL edge rushers can't get a call against anyone? I hate calling out officiating but it's too bad to simply be incompetence.

Yep, did it several times in plain sight. Sometimes you just

got to wonder about the refs. What is their real motivation?

What's ridiculous is how many targeting calls are made that

upon review are not even close, if the head is even used or touched. Not sure there are enough refs on the field to call a game with today's players. Too much speed and action.

The ACC Refs have to be getting told “ Throw the flag every time there is a potential Targeting and confirm the call if it is even close. Don’t call holding except in the most egregious cases or we will be here all night because there is holding on every pass play.”
The ACC refs will call holding on a WR on the perimeter if it springs a run. That probably skews the stats on how often holding gets called in the conference. An OL pretty much has to tackle a dude from behind or horse collar a defender on a pass play. They will call a chop block in NY minute too.

yet they caught BC's no catch on booth review and it was even obvious. Not sure how they did that.

What was done to Murphy was a standard Judo move and the reason they did not call holding is that the OT kept his hands inside the frame of his body.
