So Trump went on a rant at a campaign function saying he will defund schools with vaccine mandates. Well....below is a map showing US states where a polio vaccine is mandated for children to attend school.
So Trump walks that back. Only covid vaccines he now says. Whatever.
In the SOTU, Biden proposed to tax billionaires at 25%. Shezaaam. Man, that's great. Wait, tax WHAT at 25%? Income? Capital gains? Property tax on stock holdings? Crickets. No clue what he's talking about. He says it will bring in $500 billion in 10 years. That's a 50-day pause in our growing national debt. Aside from that, where did the math come from? Capital gains? Who knows. Biden's old, and just rattling off words with inproper context, JUST LIKE TRUMP. The AP has since clarified the 25% tax on billionaires is actually for those with ASSETS over $100 million, and it's an INCOME TAX. I HAVE MORE TAXABLE INCOME THAN JEFF BEZOS!!!!!!!!!! THIS DOES ZILCH.

Yes anyone who has seen either attempt to speak extemporaneosly can only reach the conclusion that they are of a similar mental state. You propagandists need to get Trump muzzled and/ or in prison quick if you're gonna gaslight the rest of us with your BS. You can certainly disagree with the content or tone of what Trump says, so why not do that instead of pretending he's at anywhere near the same level of awareness as Biden?

I don't like Biden's politics, as exemplified by my comment on his meaningless tax. Same for Trump and his threat on school funding.
Whatever. I know it's impossible for some people to see past the politics, but that's the only way we can go forward IMO.
So we decline, more. This ends up in tyranny, and tyranny is bad.... I don't care if I agree with the tyrant or not.

I don't see the problem Tig. Biden will probably be reelected. You must remember he's a capitalist. He told us that at least twice in the SOTU address.
He's busy capping costs of meds, capping banking fees, forgiving student debt, etc..
As a capitalist, he hopefully can move on to controlling gas prices, food prices, rent, mortgage rates etc.
Remember the man is a capitalist. He told us so.
As to Trump advocating against a COVID mandate for kids, great. Unless someone can provide a compelling reason to support jabbing kids with this vaccine, this needs to be stopped and be optional as it is for the obese and elderly.

Yes, "Tax the rich" is just some of that bumper sticker logic that politicians assume we all fall for. Like "Make America great again". Ask someone just what that means. It's like we kinda know....and we all maybe have our own idea what that means...but really isn't a basis for any kind of policy.
Even people like Bezos, Buffet or Gates know "taxing the rich" does really mean anything. But what Biden is actually proposing is tax unrealized gains. Stock or investments that have a certain value at any given time, but you don't get that until you sell it (realized). At least that's my understanding of his comments.

Deer America, billionaires don't have "income". They avoid income like the plague. They have very low "salaries". Their "wealth" is based on a market valuation of their stock holdings. And they RARELY sell stock, and when they do, IT IS NOT INCOME. It's capital gains, and is taxed at a far lower rate than INCOME. CEO's are the same. They're paid in stock options mostly, and take very little income BECAUSE THEY TOO AVOID INCOME LIKE THE PLAGUE.

and it is just that BS. Bernie has been banging the same drum for years. One analyst said of course they say all this, who doesn't like Robinhood.
Say you make $100K. 25% would be $25,000. But of course there are deductions (One man's deduction is another man's loophole). So you probably wouldn't be on the hook for all of that. And what if you cleared $1 Billion? At 8.2% you'd be on the hook for $80 million. Check my math on that, but I think that's correct. Would anyone just willingly hand over $80 mil to let the government decide on the best way to spend it? Not me. I'd hiding that anywhere I could legally do so.
It always breaks me up tp hear a liberal say "I'd be glad to pay more in taxes". Which seems sincere. Until I tell them that they can go ahead and do that now without any legislation. Just go grab and 1040EZ form, fire your accountant and pay as much tax as you want.
