Please mask up indoors, and get vaccinated...

We really don't want to go Covid again and we're heading that way. Virus' mutate. They get better and better at perpetuating themselves. What mutation could come after Delta?
"The virus has mutated. The delta variant is rampant. Some elements of immunity may be gradually waning for people who got shots many months ago. New research studies in the United States, Israel, Britain and Qatar have shown a partial erosion in the effectiveness of vaccines against mild to moderate infections. Immunocompromised people are winding up hospitalized despite being vaccinated."

My guess is that you insist on believing what you want to believe, without regard for facts, events or science. My guess is that you're just young.

for people who feel like they need to bring a gun to the grocery store or restaurant. After all, those two activities have a very high survival rate! That’s what I keep hearing — that covid has such a high survival rate, it’s not that big a deal — and I’m sure these people are consistent with their logic. I mean, there’s no way they’re using survival rate in only one case, right? Just because they’re scared of getting shots?

Ever heard of a false equivalency?

and social distancing help in stopping the spread of air-born viruses?
I love when "covid-denies" cite the flu stats thinking they're proving a certain point, when in fact they're disproving many things that fight so hard against.
It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.

Never thought I’d see the day when I was in agreement with flow. After all these years, it finally happened!
But seriously, I never thought I’d see the day when the mange was preferable to the lunge. This place has gone to ****. Some people aren’t just dabbling in stupidity here on this issue, they’re gleefully rolling around in it.
Back to the sports side of this site for me. Yeesh.

Holy oinkin' sh#t! A partial erosion of effectiveness against mild to moderate infection?? Well, that's it. From now on I'm wearing two masks every waking moment, and dousing twice a day with wasp and hornet killer.

If people like you would stay home, the rest of the world could live as normal. Do your part and shelter in place. And ####.

that's exactly how this works. Protect the vulnerable .05% by ruining their lives, not the other 99.95%.
Still too fat to insult.

There’s another thing we could do to

keep life running as smoothly as possible. People who decline to get the vaccine because it’s currently under EUA should also decline any and all treatment that’s currently under EUA, if they get infected and need medical care.
Or make it really simple: if you reject the existing scientific/medical guidance on the virus, you only get to see a doctor who does the same.

How about simply follow protocols established …

|

by private and public enterprises as determined by their leaders, administrators and owners.
Your home and car - whatever you want. No mask, no clothes or full HAZMAT A protection.
Bars and restaurants - whatever the owner wants. Likely no mask but if that’s a problem, simply don’t enter.
Grocery stores, drug stores and retail - whatever the owner / company leadership require. Likely mixed requirements.
Doctor’s offices, hospitals, dentists and medical testing- follow their protocols. Likely require a mask.
Airlines and public transportation - whatever the company or LOCAL government requires. Likely masking up. Don’t fly or use public transportation if that’s a problem for you.
Businesses (hotels, casinos, manufacturing plants or cruise lines or whatever - do what the business leadership decides. Likely a mix of requirements. No one is forced to go into or work at a private enterprise. Most individual rights (less very specific civil rights to prevent discrimination) are not applicable in a private enterprise. Try telling you boss, co-worker or customer where to go and say it’s just free speech. Good luck updating the resume.
Finally schools and Universities - whatever LOCAL school boards and administrations decide. State government overreach is equally horrendous to Federal government overreach. Local conditions will vary and local decision making makes the most sense. Some will require masks and some not.
Private enterprise will tend to operate in their own economic best interests. Minimal STATE snd FEDERAL intervention makes the most sense.
If someone doesn’t agree with the requirements of a public or private enterprise, that person is FREE to not engage that enterprise.
