Partly because of the lottery itself and partly because she signed up really late.
So she said she’d rather just join iptay as a student and buy her own tickets directly next year.

Pretty easy to buy a ticket particularly right before kickoff on Ticketmaster. Also, there is a student page where kids can buy tickets others are selling.

When I was in school it was always easy to find student tix if I didn't get one somehow. Someone always had tix they were not going to use because they were going home, going to visit a GF/BF for wknd, always extra tix around. If I couldn't go to game I always made sure someone got my tix and then they would reciprocate. I never missed a game that I wanted to go to.
Maybe things are different somehow today? Maybe kids need to socialize more and get off Social Media and make real friends? TikTok is not your friend! Maybe I am missing something but the student sections are not ever full and definitely not packed like when I was a student.

My son joined Student IPTAY but it only gives you an extra shot in the lottery. He only got two tickets last year. He has gotten more this year, but the system is a joke. I think the best thing they could do is go to a point system like many other schools. Under that system students get points for different athletic events they attend so it boosts student attendance at the other events while also rewarding the student with a greater chance to get football and basketball tickets.

Well we hated upper deck so if we could finagle lower deck then we would but could still make the game.

In some of my early years attending Clemson games, we were waiting for the gates to open to dash to the Hill for best positions. Never forget being on the Hill when #### Sheridan had a 6-0 record coming to DV along with GT games late 80’s packed like sardines. Today you can toss a frisbee around to friends. Sad.
Btw, when NC States band walked past the hill before halftime show, they were peppered with plastic cups. Still laughing today. No love lost. They had to change that eventually.

Agreed. We'll see what happens but it just seems like more "killing the goose

that lays the golden egg." Developing a love of Clemson early on is a benefit to Clemson for years. But it's hard to get your kids to a game...super expensive and hard to plan to take kids when sometimes you don't know what time the kickoff will be until a week before the game. Then in college...my goodness...the idea of having any barriers to a student attending a game is just shocking to me. I mean, I understand that the student population has increased substantially but I just can't see students bot being able to go to any game they want to in Death Valley.

In the last 10-15 years and I don’t think they’ve added more student seating. That’s the main issue.

When i was at Clemson just 10 years ago, with 16K students you could roll up to the ticket booth the Friday before a home game and get a ticket.
It’s tougher now with almost 25K

I hate this so much, student tickets should be free and gaurenteed, full stop. The only lottery should be for lower deck vs upper deck tickets for those not camping out.
I don’t care what they have to do, charge me more for my IPTAY “donation”, increase the season ticket price, but make it happen. They’re robbing these kids on tuition already, they shouldn’t rob them of some of the greatest experiences most of us alums had as part of our undergraduate experience on top of that.

"...Hated upper deck..." Haha. No such seats when I was there. SRO with 43,000 fans packed in there.

once said, “ There’s no free rides in this carnival world”
My daughter joined IPTAY Collegiate Club Freshman Year. Bought tickets and sat in lower deck student section all 4 years.
If you want it, you can get it.

Student Iptay. Some of their friends did not, and they had to wait in line at the Douthit Hills bookstore the morning of the game. Our oldest daughter '15 had to pick hers up.
Way back, you had a certain day when you picked up your tickets from the library. I remember camping out for (2) days to get CU @ USuCk tickets.
Post in the wanted section in Tiger Tickets (https://www.tigernet.com/clemson-football-tickets). We've always been able to secure tickets there. Good luck!
