My only older cousin out of like 8 or 9 cousins (also the only male, weird) was at Clemson when his mom passed away. He got a big insurance payout and the first thing he bought was an '87 navy blue 300Z. His dad, my uncle, bought a gold one shortly after. And then a year or two later, my aunt bought a sky blue probably '88 or '89 300Z. Looked like this, iirc:

So there were times where THREE 300ZXs were parked in my grandmother's driveway at her lil 1,200 sq. ft. house in Columbia, and I'm just a kid who might have just gotten a driver's license, but ain't nobody lettin' me drive one of these machines.

My aunt kept hers well into the 2000s, didn't drive it, it just sat under a cover. Wonder if she made her money back on it, because it was probably pretty low mileage.

Looking at it now, I never noticed how much it looks just like an RX-7.

I looked it up and it did 0-60 in 7.3 seconds. I remember him telling me the whole car shut down when the speed limiter kicked in at 134mph.

No, they were dogs by any reasonable sports car standard.

More of a luxury "sports" car. I remember the radio had a volume knob on the steering wheel--first car I ever saw that in. And they had a keypad underneath the driver door handle.

Z was about a foot longer and a whopping 700 pounds heavier.

The real surprise I just learned was that the Z had a 19 gallon gas tank. That’s huge for a sports car.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

I have no idea what to type here. Lost my dad to heart disease when I was 20 and it changed my life forever. 49 years later, I still have fond memories of him and all the rest of my family that is now gone due to old age and cancer.

You have my condolences and hope you have fond memories of your dad also.

They say the worst thing in the world is losing a child. Less is said of a child who loses their parent.

I'm not sure what to say either. That's how bad these things are. And pivotal.

My instinct is to be glass-half-full and I like to think we'd be worse off if this terrible thing hadn't happened.

He sacrificed his entire life to send my brother and I to Clemson. I saw him truly happy twice, when I graduated from Clemson, and when my son was born, named after him.

I'd be pretty much white trash without him.
