muchamp hotseat?

So.. Going back to 2013 (excluding his first year at UF). Mushchaps is 22-2 against ranked opponents. That is really terrible..... Add his schedule next year CLEMSON, bama, ugah, UF, A&M, and the fighting kelly bryants at mizzou, (all are preseason ranked) AND I would throw in a possible upset alert at UNC for Mack Brown's new show, and a 0-3 vs Kentucky (snicker snicker)... It's hard to seeing him keep his job.
I will enjoy watching him scream at somebody and punching a wall at his firing.. Although it may be argued that anyone would be an improvement, so perhaps I should be ok with him sticking around another year or so?
Does a 7 loss Coot get fired? What say you.

The schedule will be used as an excuse, if only to give him 1 more year. The administration is on the hook for Muschamp. They don't want him to fail and will give him ample opportunity.

He either has to win 9+ games or beat us. Neither is likely...so he is more than likely out of a job after this year.

He's not getting fired unless he has a terrible year. I think it would take a 4-8 type of season to really get him in trouble. 2020 is the year i would really expect him to be on the hot seat.
Their schedule is pretty brutal next year and expecting anything more than about 6 maaaaaaybe 7 wins (if you squint pretty hard through garnet glasses) would be pretty delusional.
Alabama, at Georgia, Florida, at Texas A&M, Clemson. That's perhaps the 3 best teams in the country plus two others that could be top 15. Maybe they win 1 of those 5? Maybe.
They travel to Tennessee and Missouri - neither of those games will be gimmes next year and i suspect they will lose 1 of the 2. They also scheduled App St OOC, which doesn't seem like a great idea, and play UNC. I kind of doubt UNC will be very good next year, but neither of those games are 100% locks either. And there's also Kentucky, who i expect to drop off pretty dramatically next year, but who has still won 5 in a row against the Coots. It's kind of hard to put that one down as a sure W when they haven't beaten them in 5 years.
I see a 5-7 or 6-6 type of team for SCar unless they are substantially better than expected, but i don't think that's going to be bad enough to get him fired. I don't think he's really even on the hot seat right now.

A simple mistake but kinda an important point as it is the heart of your post.
He will not be fired after next year. He will find a way to win +/- 5 games and blame the schedule. He has a chance to win a few more if his never again QB could settle down and manage the offense but that is unlikely IMO

What does that leave little muskcamp? “Keep cashing checks until you get fired for some reason/any reason”?

and 5 - 7 is ENTIRELY possible. Naturally, that includes a sixth consecutive loss to Clemson.
That result will put CussChamp firmly on the hotseat.
Another 6 - 6 or 5 - 7 record in 2020 (which is highly likely) and a seventh consecutive loss to Clemson is what will get him fired.

Worse than 6-6 would be awesome. It would have ben agonizing for them simply to lose 5 straight against us. But to have to sit and watch us win 2 out of 3 National Titles and beating Bama to do it has definitely added to their anguish.
The only sure win they have on their schedule is Charleston Southern. Vandy always plays them tough so flip a coin on that one.
5 wins is highly likely but I would not at all be surprised if they won 3 or 4. Seriously doubt their defense will improve that much from last year.

Yeah, I agree with him getting a pass this year because of the schedule. Next year he will be on the hot seat to win or go home with his fat retirement check just like Spurrier and Holtz.

He has at least 2 more years. In addition to the "tough 2019" schedule excuse, they have to give him time to recruit using the new football operation center as their focus - it ain't happening though. So 2 and maybe 3 more years.

Not sure the people dumb enough to get Muschamp in there after Fl. ran him off, aren't going to be smart enough to get him gone.
Per Greenville News:
"Muschamp's new deal, approved unanimously, calls for a $4.2 million salary in 2018, up from the $3.1 million he made annually, and includes a $200,000 increase every year through the life of the six-year deal. If Muschamp completes the contract under its current terms, he will make $5.2 million in the 2023 season. Jan 12, 2018

His seat definitely got hotter with the blowout loss to UVA. However, given their schedule this year and the fact that he is, unfortunately, recruiting well, I think he has 2 more years. Even if their program improves (and it may), they won’t catch up to us, UGA or Florida under Muschump.
