Moving to the other side of Barnwell, SC

Calling out all Barnwell Tigers that are familiar with the “Southwest” side of town. I’ve been living on the East side for a few years and we are moving closer to the river. Just wondering if anyone had any restaurant recommendations or cool sites to see....

In a small country town like Barnwell SC, absolutely nothing should be hard to find, just go past the red light !!!

I'm sure he will be happy that he has learned that he could put a 100k on a new vehicle in a few months of driving from the SW side of Barnwell to the NW side of Barnwell
Back when I was in my teenage years, I would visit my first cousins that lived in Hampton and Estill, and the dance at the Barnwell county Pool was the very best thing happening that was close to Hampton and Estill, in Hampton county, and the Barnwell county pool was the place to go back then. You could go to the dance at the pool in Barwell, drink plenty of GOOD moonshine, and get into some of the best fist fighting without being ganged up on, cut, or worry about getting shot. We would laugh about what a good time we had the dance the night before, while trying to hide the evidence from our parents of how good a time we had with the bumps and bruises we would get just having fun with the good ole boys. One of the better things back then was that good made moonshine was pretty cheap, and it didn't leave you with a crippling hangover the next day. If you ever did have a head ache the next day, it was bc you didn't have the best night at the fights !!! The good ole days with the good ole boys, I do wish I could go back and live those days one more time bc, it was the good ole days!!!!

When Sherman's troops came through they called it "Burn Well". Kept their horses in the church. Of course, anyone from Barnwell knows this.

Barnwell is not too far from the site of the annual Chitlin' Strut Festival in Salley for another haute cuisine opportunity.

Hey, you're talking about my people now. Well, at least what used to be my people before we all moved away and left it to other people.
Anyhow, what I want to know is what side of the Gateway to the Low Country will he be living on now? Maybe he'll be close enough to the gate to take control of it and charge a toll to pass through.

The square? There is not a "square" there. There's a circle. Hence why the festival they used to have was called The Festival on the "Round."

My brother and I were basically the “house band” for Harry’s for a while. Sadly it closed down about 4 years ago.

after spending time there while building Dixienarco I came to know some of the finest people on this planet. If you run across a fellow named Larry Bodiford tell him Dan his boss in that construction remembers him fondly.

I have to admit, there isn't much better than some good old time mustard based BBQ. That is what I grew up on if you were eating open Pit BBQ Hog. I don't know why someone would ruin an open Pit cooked Hog with that ketchup base, especially after it has taken them 10-12 hours to cook it. And that's not counting the time that it took to cut and spit up all that Oak wood that it takes to cook a Hog for 10-12 hours. As far as my preference and concerns are, it should be a hanging offence to ruin a 12 hour slow Pit cooked Hog by putting that ketchup base sauce on it. That ketchup base sauce is for BBQ chicken, and nothing else, period, and those are the rules for BBQ-ing that I grew up with!!!
