lol. why is always trying to compare Coach Brownell to other coaches in ACC? Isn't that debate, kids stuff?
I am glad Coach Brownell and would not trade him with Mike Young, but has Coach Brownell won an ACCT yet or yet even gone to the Finals?
Now Coach Brownell has had two good runs in the NCAAT, unlike Mike Young.
But this stuff is so juvenile...

he started out well against us at VT but it has turned. probably still has an advantage but not by much losing 2 to us this year

I’m not a Mike Young guy. The OP asked what the record was so I looked it up and provided. He then asked me to show my work, so I did. I’d rather have CBB than Mike Young. I wasn’t one of the posters the OP says was praising Young a few weeks back. In fact, I couldn’t have told you who VT’s basketball coach was until last night when the question was posed, which peaked my curiosity, leading me to look it up. Based on the OP, I assumed CBB had a dominant lead, and was genuinely surprised that was even at 5-5. I was glad to see it’s trending Clemson’s way in recent seasons though.

at their programs, each following a coach that had led their respective program to 3 successive NCAA appearances prior (Williams, OP). Young has the edge I guess with the ACCT championship and the extra NCAA appearance.
Va Tech needs to come up with a financial investment / management strategy for all programs here soon or they are going to get left behind. How committed are they and their alumni base?

Gonna be hard to gain $$ traction in Blacksburg with a coach earning 750K per SRS point. But I’ll also agree that this year’s decline is largely portal driven. Losing Pedulla and all the others really hurt them. He’s managed the portal well in the past, so we know he is capable.
And he did win a conference tourney, but so did Keats, just last year. But NC State has more basketball fan support & greater expectations too
