Give to IPTAY and get them at face value.
It gets a little old hearing people complain about the folks who give hundreds or thousands of dollars to get their seats selling some of those tickets for a nice price. This is what it sounds like: "Well, I need you to donate all that money and then turn around and sell me your tickets to a big game for face value!"
I'm assuming they'll want to buy those tickets at face value against Citadel, right?
What a person does with his tickets is his business. He paid for that right. And our stadium is always rocking for these big games.
And no, it's not illegal to sell your tickets for profit on StubHub, so you can avoid that response.

Have the opposing fans filled up the stadium? How many times has that opposing crowd been a factor that cost us the game?
I eagerly await your statistics.
By the way, Clemson University sells the most tickets to opposing fans, and they do it for a lot cheaper than I do. Maybe give the university a call?

They are CU's tickets that you are allowed to purchase and you are responsible with what you do with them as a Iptay member. So if that Iptay member is constantly selling out, you can complain and it works!

If you are friend or family I will give them at face, but if you are just some guy that wants to buy a premium ticket at face and avoid the cost of IPTAY dues, full price of SCST/Citadel, etc, then you are high.
It is not greed, it is common sense. You are the cheap #### that does not want to give to the University you supposedly love.

It's all down to people's perception, I don't think anyone is right in this argument.
For me a ticket is worth what the $ value is on it and that is for buying and selling. If I have extra tickets to a decent game, which I have done then I sell it for the value of the ticket to Tiger fans ONLY. If I am lucky enough to have good seats to the best experience possible I am happy to give other Tigers that same chance for the $ price on the ticket.
Again, that's my take and I accept there are many differing perspectives on this.

Nothing is worth more than what someone is willing to pay for it.
I'm sick of hearing from people complaining about ticket prices. I buy extra season tickets for those few games that my children can attend, and sell them when they can't. I've eaten $1000's over the years selling tickets for far less than face value, much less my seat equity "donation". And some that I couldn't even sell for $5. I ate 2 this weekend that I couldn't sell. Join IPTAY and buy season tickets if you don't want to pay premium prices for premium games. And quit b!tching that I won't subsidize your Gameday.
And I only sell to Tiger fans so don't accuse me of selling out to the enemy.

It comes down to affordability and my job schedule, or lack of a set schedule. I may do it someday, though. It isn't off the table. I love my Tigers. I really enjoy the basketball games.

I don't make a lot of $ either. I give what I can and I love going to all the games. My family gets a lot of tickets every year and we don't use them all. I try to make up for what I do give when I can. I haven't sold them for profit until this year. If people are willing to pay for it, and the cost of going to games keeps going up, I don't see a lot of alternatives.

anything I'm saying personally. I know how ticket sales to big games work. Me personally, I feel as though I could always find someone to get rid of the tickets to, like a family member or friend, at face value and move on with life, but I understand other people don't follow that same philosophy. Enjoy the game, man. I'm hoping a buddy of mine and fellow TNetter comes through with the two face value lower deck tickets he may have available. He is like you. Family members, friends, with tickets and he helps me out when he can and other times I'm sure he just sells them other ways, like for profit, or more likely, everyone is showing up for the game and the tickets aren't there to sell. No big deal.

I donate around 2100 to sit and park where I do. I can sell my tickets for whatever price I can get and not feel one ioda of anything. That being said, I don't ever sell a single ticket, I go to every game home and away and then on top of that when I can't make it , I give the tickets to friends or family.
That being said, I didn't even graduate from Clemson.

First, I have an understanding of making "some" money but in some cases there are people out there that would just like to get up to a game sometimes. I was an Iptay member for 24 plus years and made every game I could. I found out I had stage four cancer in 2011 and now take extensive chemo treatments. With this and my lack of strength it was no longer feasible to buy tickets. I still love Clemson and try to get up to a game when my schedule allows. It makes it difficult to go when your schedule dictates only certain games and the prices are out of this world. So, not all of us are deadbeats looking for face value, just looking for reasonable prices.

If you think the price on the tickets reflects their value, you are lying to yourself. Is that why 50yd line lower bowl seats cost the same as upper neck end one corners or the hill? No. It's because the $ donation required to buy the cheap seats is much less than the donation required for the good seats. Why do you think tickets to every bowl game, pro game of any sport, or any concert are more expensive the closer you get to the action? You are seriously kidding yourself FILO. You are just trying to make yourself feel better about b*tching that everyone else sells their tickets for what they are worth. Here is the solution to your problem FILO, either 1. Donate to IPTAY, buy your own tickets, 2. Pay what someone is asking, or 3. Quit your moaning.
And with regards to not using every ticket every game...my dad gets a lot of season tickets because there are 4 of us kids, and now the 5th grandchild is on the way. If he gives up those tickets it will be difficult or impossible to get them back, so he hangs on to them, sells the left overs when we all can't make it, and when we do, there is enough for the entire family. Because for my family, Clemson weekends are a reunion of sorts, and if it means my dad can make $700 on the FSU game on two tickets for us to keep being able to come to games as a family, then I say SELL SELL SELL!!!

sure you take all the deductions you can find, so,you have to claim the additional income, as well. it's ok to make a few bucks, just be honest about the income. i am positive,though, since stubhub allows a person to sell for a profit, they also report this information to the irs, if only to prove that they, (the company) isn't the people making the money. sleep tight!

Don't care how much an IPTAY member sells their tickets for, but do care WHO they are sold too. I pay IPTAY and I'm sick and tired of three different IPTAY members buying extra tickets and selling them to the opposing team's fan base around me. I give to the scholarship program, I want those of like minds around me, Clemson Fans, but keep getting @!#% fans around me. I've called to IPTAY to confirm the seats owners to be IPTAY and they are, and there is NOTHING they can do but tell me to try and move next season.
You can prevent the selling of IPTAY seats to other team fans if you were to, at the time of entry to the stadium, have the persons with the scanners note if the person using the ticket was wearing the opposing teams colors/logo. Those scanners can be programed with something to make such a notation. Then it's a $25 or $50 upcharge to the IPTAY member that owns the tickets on next years donation, otherwise they lose the right to their seats. IPTAY is a donation program that gives members a privilege of choice seating and I emphasize "privilege" not a right.

Y'all ever think about the people that have kids playing travel ball etc. and dump a lot of there money and time into it. These people might not have every weekend free or the money to make every game but still try to go to 2 or 3 a year. I know this example dose not fit everybody but I know it to be true for a few.
